I have been on Atkins before and I really like the diet, but I never have any energy when I am on this diet. My husband started with me and he is really dragging also. We feel lightheaded and tired. We have been on since Monday. Does anyone have any suggestions? We are taking vitamins along with the diet.

if you use fitday then plug your supplements in as a custom food and look in the reports section to see if you are lacking any vits and/or minerals. Many inductees have low potassium which not only effects muscle action but can cause low blood pressure and depression like feelings.
Dr Atkins says if you feel tired you need to eat more food so enjoy a bit more high fat moderate protein food and see how you feel.by the book atkinseer

How many calories are you consuming?I never have any energy when I am on this diet
How many net carbs? How many of those net carbs are coming from vegetables?
How much protein and fat are you consuming (in percentages)?
Are you eating regularly, every few hours?
How much water are you drinking?
You might feel weak and tired in the beginning, but this should go away afterward. We have been on since Monday."Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

I dont have any scientific answers, but when this happens to me I normally eat some cheese and drink loadsa water.. I also drink white tea (like green tea, but made from the flower not leaf - not so bitter) I find this does the trick!sigpic
