  • Disappointed, but won't quit!

I did my weigh in after being on induction for 7 days. Nothing, notta, not even an ounce lost. I was disappointed but I'm not gonna quit. I'm gonna start posting menus, so if you guys will please critic me, I'd be grateful.

Went to Wal-Mart last night and bought a digital scale. Got home and the darn thing doesn't work. Also, looked for a copy of DANDR ( I have Atkins Essentials) and they didn't have it.I think I'll go on line today and order it. I have been on antibiotics for a kidney infection for a week so maybe that could have effected me? Also, my "monthly friend" came so I don't know how this would effect me. I'll cut out the cheese for now and see what happens. I'm averaging 85 ounces of water a day. Did a few workouts but still not up to par on that. The kidney infection got me down a little. Gonna do one this morning though.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Cin

    Yes, it may be.

Also, my "monthly friend" came so I don't know how this would effect me.
Of course it can. You are likely retaining water.

I'll cut out the cheese for now and see what happens.
How much cheese have you been eating?

I'm averaging 85 ounces of water a day.
Is this enough for you? The more you weigh, the more water you might need. Are you drinking 1/2 your body weight, in ounces?

Did you take body measurements to see if you lost inches?

Firstly, well done for not deciding to give up

As you have guessed, being on amtibiotics can affect weightloss progress as also does your monthly cycle

As long as you are sticking to the allowed foods list I imagine there is probably not much that needs changing

Weight loss patterns vary from one person to another, so your pattern might be to get a loss in the second week Just contine as you have been doing and see what your 15th day weigh-in shows. Also make sure you have taken measurements to use as a check on your progress, as we often lose inches even if the scales are stubborn.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm drinking a little more than half my body weight in water. Only 2 ounces of cheese a day. Oh, and 3 tablespoons of heavy cream for my decaf in the morn.....I don't know, I'll have to see what happens.

with all the weight gaining things going on the antibiotics and TOM I would not change nothing about your Atkins eating based on your other posts and just ride this out. Induction is 14 days for a reason and since you are not cheating, over eating your legal foods just hang in there and see how things are on day 15.

We had a moderator here who lost nothing for the full 14 days and hung in there and was a goalie with a 40 some odd pounds loss 8 months later, so if on day 15 you are still the same weight and size ( those inches are body fat being burned off so use your tape measure) then you might need to make a change.

            hang in there.
