Induction friendly? Never done it before and think it is about time that I do. I just don't want it to effect the diet.

Why do you think "it's time"?

Why not just have a flax muffin and save the money?

Flax muffins don't get rid of the toxins and excess waste that has built up in your body for years either tho. Doctor suggested doing it a while ago and said everyone should do it every couple years at least.

        Or eat some veggies
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

If I could find some jicama then I would give it a shot lol. Checked 4 different supermarkets today, no luck...

Well, I personally think it's a waste of money ... and a gimmick.

You could get your doctor to prescribe a colonoscopy ... that would have the same effect.

Jicama can be a bit difficult to find this time of year but it will be more readily avaiable soon. I find it in superstore (which you have plenty of in Edmonton ) But it is not always in and when they get it goes fast. I was lucky and got some last week but I already finished it. And now they are out again. Do you know how jicama looks like?

I don't advocate them. My doc says there's no need.

C'mon, Andrew! Don't get hung up on thinking jicama may possibly be the only veggie you will like. You told us you have gone 24 years without eating veggies. I have faith in you that you can find something you can tolerate... even if you can't find jicama.

Since I started atkins, I gave about 15 different types of veggies so far. All but the mushrooms ended up being given to the dog after one bite. I don't think I could eat mushrooms everyday either lol. I keep trying something new almost every day, hopefully I will eventually find something.

Liv, I checked Superstore, Wal-Mart, T&T (asian supermarket) and Sobey's to no avail. I got to go to the other side of the city today so I will check another Superstore to see if they may have it (the person I asked at the one near me had no idea what it was). And ya, I know what it looks like. Even have a picture/description of it on my cell to hopefully make it easier to spot.

The people who works in that store is paid not to have a clue I think (useless they are)
Anyways superstore do have it a lot. I like it because it gives a good crunch that helps to clean my gums. Not a lot of atkins foods have good crunch.
I love T@T I wish we had one here. You can get shiritake noodles there.

Not all, but quite a few of them. I got a can of pumpkin that I am going to give a try today as well (only thing from a pumpkin I have eaten was the seeds).

Well, you might not like a vegetable cooked in a certain way, but if you add it in another recipe, you might like it.

Did you try pumpkin? You could make a MUP.

Andrew, remember when I said in that other thread that I didn't like jicama the first time I tasted it? It was that way with a lot of veggies. I either had to develop a taste for it, or I hadn't found the way of cooking them that would do the trick. With experimentation and repeated attempts, I surprisingly found quite a few that I truly like. There are a few that I still pass on, but I am quite proud of how much I have grown in the veggie department.

I admit - it takes some courage and determination to break out of the "veggie-hating" box. But I speak from experience - it CAN be done. YOU can do it!

Btw - totally off topic - but since I am thinking of stores in Edmonton.
Have you visited Sweet Tweet - great source for sugar free stuff (not veggies though but you can get low sugared ketchup there - I think it is a veggie )
