Hello. I am Diana and a new member. I have been on induction for 8 days. I am wondering if anyone has had any issues with sleeping while doing induction. I've noticed over the last several days that I am having a hard time falling asleep. Plus, when I do fall asleep I am waking up many times thru out the night! I have never had a problem with sleeping before. The weird part is that my energy has increased 100%. I don't recall reading anything about sleep in the book?? Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: Anyone have trouble sleeping during induction
I had no problem falling asleep or staying asleep on Induction, except to get up to use the bathroom, but that was happening B4 I started Atkins....and with all the extra water I drink now, I sometimes have to get up twice.259/206/149

Re: Anyone have trouble sleeping during induction
I think I've actually slept better since starting Atkins! I go to sleep straight away and don't get up until it's time. But hey - people are different! It could for sure be a side effect in induction.

Re: Anyone have trouble sleeping during induction
that would be me! for the first 3-4 days i wouldn't sleep until 2 am... i usually go to bed at 11 - 12... so yea, it's probably a side affect. i'm on day 8 and go to bed at usual time again.

Re: Anyone have trouble sleeping during induction
Me too! My husband (who was out of town) came home last night and asked me this morning if I was sick because I tossed and turned all night. I'm exhausted but can't sleep. I think my body is just in shock. I'm going to stick it out and hope my sleeping improves.
I might try walking a little at night. I do my exercise walking in the morning, but maybe I need to settle myself down at night with a stroll. I find I'm jittery--no, not jittery, almost panicky or unsettled right now. I'm hoping it's the induction detox effect. At least I'm not hungry for carbs anymore.
Here's to sweet dreams soon for everyone...

Re: Anyone have trouble sleeping during induction
Thank you for the replies. I was a little worried that I would have to quit the diet! But, now I know that I am not the only one and that it probably is just a side effect. So, I will hang in and hope for better nights soon.

Re: Anyone have trouble sleeping during induction
I too have sleep issues when I start eating healthy. That was one of the keys to me slipping back in to bad habits. I would drug myself with sugar and carbs to relax. Now I just work out hard in the late evenings to tire myself out more. I just was not using the healthy body god gave us so there was extra energy to spare. So now its a killer work out then a hot bath , snack of turkey meat and water them I'm out like a baby.38 Yrs,5'7" Start 01/2010

Re: Anyone have trouble sleeping during induction
Oh yes for the first four or five days I was up until 2,3,4...in the morning...well I'm on my tenth day and have been sleeping better everyday....Now as for loosing weight that's my problem...I didn't read the book well enough or just didn't investigate the carb count properly..I think I've got it now...the people in the forum have really helped me there...so go there for anything you need to know...Good luck you will get some sleep soon.....
