  • Day 9.... lost an inch off my waist!!

That tape measure actually closed in on a smaller number. I was thinking I looked a little thinner, but now I actually have proof that it's not just my wishful thinking! I haven't weighed myself yet, and I'm actually nervous about it. It's going to be very scary when day 15 is here and I actually have to get back on the scale. I used to weigh myself almost every day, so it's frightening to go this long and then just step on it. Back in my low-calorie days... it probably would've been a "you've gained 5 pounds" moment. But at least I can rest assured knowing that I AM getting slimmer. WOO HOO.
I'm 26 years old, and I lost weight on this plan in 2005. I'm getting married in August and thought this would be the way to go after making little progress on other diets. I've got 20 lbs to lose for the big day!

        woooHoooo!

Repeat after me "Scales are evil".

The tape measure is your best friend, especially if you exercise because you can be building muscle mass but losing fat. The scale won't tell you if you lost a pound of fat but gained a pound of muscle---it just shows you a number that won't move.

Dr. Atkins said that inches lost represents the fat emptying from your cells. So, good going on that 1 inch! May you lose more inches (fat)!

          a singing success

You are doing great! Congratulations for staying away from the scale and for noticing and posting your positive changes. It is so important to establish from the start that Atkins is a permanent lifestyle and not a temporary diet. Keep going - the metabolic edge is with you.
