Welcome to ADBB!
For some, the cravings go away sooner than others. For some, they never go away.
You'll have to see how it works for you.
In the meantime, don't feed your cravings with low carb substitutes ... and many find that having something fatty or protein based works.
People even report that a dill pickle will help.
Keep in mind, too, that a craving only lasts about 20 minutes ... so refocus. Do something else.
Drink some water, too!J.

Thanks for the tips. I did go do something else, I vaccumed! House is clean. I have planned out my menu for the next day, leaving room for a snack if needed. husband is doing it to ( he has about 10 to lose) as is my oldest son ( 21) I have 50 to lose he has about 70. This is my first time on atkins and so far I am not hungry at all, just wanting to keep carbs at 20, so far so good I think. I am using fitday to track. I am waiting for the withdrawl to start, a little headache now and then but so far nothing.

Re: How long?
FitDay counts total carbs. To find net carbs, you'll need to do the math yourself and subtract the fiber.Originally posted by gregsbabe1 View PostHow does fitday count it? Net carbs right?"Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

Re: How long?
Fitday tells you total carbs. You have to subtract fiber out on your own. Remember, 19 net carbs is better than 1 net carb. If you try to go too low, you will feel like garbage and fall off quickly. Dill pickles are a good thing to eat when you feel a sugar craving come on. Best of luck,

Re: How long?
ooppsss. I have been using fitdays carb count. Which means I can have more veggies. I was at about 14 net carbs after doing the math. SO instead of more lettuce I will have more cucumbers or tomatoes or something. Thanks all!! Luckily it seems that mostly just the veggies I have been eating are differnt in the net carb/total carb count. So I will use fitday for everything but the veggies and add those myself with only the net carbs for a total!!
I love pickles I will try that!! Anyone know how many carbs in a glass (12oz) of nonsweetened Ice tea? (not instant)

Re: How long?
we don't add mopre to get to 20 net. Staying under 20 net is our goal with the majority of our carbs coming from our veggies. You get to add more veggies after day 14 when you move to the OWL phase.
tea should be very low in carbs less then 1 for your glass.by the book atkinseer
