  • Mayo question

I am currently on day 7 of induction. I want to make tuna salad for lunch and was looking at the mayo I want to use. Under carbs it says zero, but sugar is listed in the ingredients.

    Is the mayo safe?

    Under carbs it says zero
That's because there are less than 0.5 grams per serving. I would count 0.5 g per serving.

    Is the mayo safe?
Most people are fine using mayo even if it has a small amount of added sugar.

You can also find brands without sugar, e.g. Duke's Mayonnaise.

Or you could make your own.

      Re: Mayo question

Some are strict with their mayo, and hunt down a sugar-free product like Duke's or make their own. Personally, I (and others) have never had a problem with commercially-produced mayo like Hellmann's (Best Foods on the West Coast), despite the bit of sugar in it. Just make sure you count the carbs for the portion.

Ah Dukes. Boy do I miss that. It's typically only available in southern states (can't get it here in Connecticut). I usually stock up on trips home (NC).

I've been using Hellman's with no impact these last few weeks. Just be careful in your measurements and go with the 0.5g rule.
