  • Ketosis in 2 days?

Hello all! First time poster, third time Induction Phaser! I have lost weight fast the first 14 days on Induction with strict carb watching and running/weight lifting. I always monitor with Ketostix for motivation.

I haven't been successful and staying on the Atkins OWL ever, but I'm committed to it this time around and its a big reason I signed up for the Forum. I was curious if anyone else has been able to achieve ketosis in the first 1-2 days of Induction per the addition of exercise? It typically took me 3-4 days in the past.

Thanks for the input. I want to be in Ketosis, but I don't want to be doing any harm.

    Exercise Program:
    • 3 mile run / 35-40min
    • One Body Part Lifting / per day (Chest, Shoulders, Legs)
    • Abs (250 a day)

I don't know how long it takes, a couple of days probably. If you stick to the Induction rules you won't do any harm.

      Do you know why?

      Why is this time different?

I am currently at full blown Ketosis according to the Ketostix on day number 2. I have had issues staying on OWL as it seems to continue to impact working out (strength increase) and long runs (longer than 4 miles).

Don't get me wrong, I love the results that being in carb control rewards us, it just becomes a challenge to balance when wanting to increase muscle as well.

There's not really a "full blown" ketosis.

If you're relying on the color to tell you anything ... don't.

All the color means is you either had a lot or a little excess ketones to spill at that moment in time.

And ... you can be in ketosis without changing the color of the stick at all.
