  • After 14 days-I'm starting over!

    hi all,
    I am new to the board...actually I just stumbled across this as I was looking for info on the Atkins bar and Induction.
    Well, today was Day 15 for me of Induction and I've lost only 4lbs. Actually I lost the 4lbs in the first week, the second, I lost nothing.

    I realized I was doing the Induction wrong....as I was keeping to the 20net carbs but I was having 1 Atkings Advantage bar and 1 Atkins shake a day....I wasn't having all of my water in week 1 and didnt exercise either....Also, for some dumb reason, I started Day 1 when I was on Day 1 of menstruating.....
    So I decided to start all over again and do it right. Eat clean. I also cheated a bit (had 2 pancakes, 3 burritos, 1 cheesecake slice) so in a way I guess I should be happy I lost the 4lbs....although that might be water weight.

    Anyway, I can use a buddy if your the same weight/goal as me!
    This board is great, just what I needed to stay focus! Thank you everyone!

    Are you reading Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002)?

      to be honest, I only read parts of it and now I am going back to some parts.....so I realized I should have done what everyone says....to read everything from the book!!! I am an idiot....

          I don't think that's a "dumb reason". The amount you lose on Induction has nothing to do with long-term success.

          This board is great, just what I needed to stay focus!
          Plan your menus at least a day in advance. That will help you focus on what your body needs, even when your brain wants pancakes.

            don't restart 14 day induction!. It isn't a punishment for messing up your atkins. just drop the bars shakes and frankenfoods from your induction menu and replace them with a few days of yummy real foods that are induction legal and then move to OWL so you will be able to bui.d your house of atkins using OWL for the framing and premaintnenace for the roofing and be ready to move in when you are a goalie and do the finishing touches so your house of atkins will stand for the rest of your life.
            4 pounds gone from somebody with 36 pounds to lose is actually a great start. You dropped over 11% of your needed to lose pounds. for somebody like me when I started that would be 16 pounds.

              Congratulations on losing 11% of your hoped-for loss already and in spite of those Atkins products

              As 2big suggested, just adjust your menus from now on and move to OWL after your 14 days is up

                  thanks my house of Atkins post was a stickie around here somewhere it goes into a lot more detail on building that house and how and why induction all the way to goal isn't a good thing

                    hey you recognized you mistake not fix it and keep going. Like you said you did pretty good with even with pancakes. I made mistakes, well not mistakes cause i knew better, but I’m going to be on induction for little longer then you, i did okay with the food, but did have nuts, and tequila which are both a no no for the first 2 weeks. I'm determine to not have either for 14 days starting Monday. I also just found this board and looking forward to it.
