No worries Sandra...don't feel you need to apologize...it's good to clarify and ask those questions. I remember when I first read about peppers I actually wondered the same thing...so you're not alone in this one girl

Ohhhhh, yes Mary...lovin' those red ones too! I have found the orange ones to be a weeee bit on the sweeter side. I always found them to be my "dessert treat" (as I'm alergic to so many other things and am very limited in the dessert options!). I could eat an orange pepper like an apple...however, all in moderation!

    Cheers!

I L.O.V.E. peppers! AT a local warehouse club store, there's a long red cubanelle pepper called an "ancient sweet". Delicious! I stuff the pepper with cream cheese and cheddar or gruyere or a good goat cheese and roast it in the oven until the cheese is melted. It's so rich and wonderful.

Only green peppers would have been sad. I love red peppers - buy them in big bags and eat loads. Glad we could help you Sandra.
You could stuff the peppers with meat Sarina - that is pretty good I like mine raw or maybe sauteed.

                    Hi Liv,

I tried stuffing mine with meat and some onions but the meat was a little dry, however, I got to thinking and decided to saute onions WITH zucchini (I LOVE sauteed zucchini..it's soooo creamy) and it actually made the meat pretty moist! Just thought I would share that in case someone else runs into the same issue regarding dry meat. Ohhhh, I also added some eggs too.

I'm with you....I like mine raw as well!!!

I also really enjoy frying up some orange pepper in the morning and cracking eggs over top of them and letting them cook...mmmmm. Sounds pretty plain but I really enjoy it.

I agree - cut in bitesized pieces and sprinkled with a little sea salt to bring out the flavour the sweet red pointed ones are my 'candy' too

And if I really cannot be bothered to prepare a cooked meal in the evenings after the gym I often have meat and edam cheese rollups accompanied with raw red peppers. YUMMY!!

Slice the peppers, lightly coat them with oil, put them in the oven and bake until they are softened. Remove them, peel (if you want, the peels remove easily), arrange attractively on a plate, then sprinkle over lemon juice, salt, pepper, and a good olive oil. (Or pour over a vinaigrette.) Serve warm or room temperature. If you like capers, a few of those scattered about won't hurt either.

I love them too and often eat them right off the plant in the garden! But I don't dare store them in the fridge because my dh says he can taste them in everything else that's in there with them. So I occasionally buy just one and eat it right away. They give him heartburn.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one in the world who stands in the garden eating my fruits and veggies right off the plant!

One year I held a dinner party where I planted a variety of lettuces into several planters. I thought it would be a cute idea for everyone to pick their own salad greens...I mean, people gush about having fresh salad: what could be more fresh than pucking the greens right onto your plate? Well....maybe if my guests were more adventurous and open minded, it would have been a hit...

PS.....I don't think the folks in ADBB were too surprized about 2Big's pepper dessert. I think what shocked more people was 2Big's "I need something sweet" craving solver: every time you get a sweet craving, pop a few jalapeno pepper slices into your mouth.

One year I held a dinner party where I planted a variety of lettuces into several planters.
