  • Did you get a boost of energy?

I ate all my veggies and drank all my water, so I felt pretty much like Superwoman during Induction. Sorry.

Me too - anytime now would be nice! Yes, I eat all of my veggies & drink my water! I always ate my veggies and drank water (not as much) tho - including pre-Atkins. I wonder if that is why I didn't notice a difference?

I too am waiting.... But Julie may be on to something. I've always eaten alot of veggies, and drank alot of water.

On an interesting side benefit though, although I didn't get a burst of energy, I sleep alot sounder than before. I still drink a couple cups of coffee, so it's not cutting out the caffeine.

after 20 days, I havent gotten energy either....I just bought the L-Caratiene and the CO-10 as recommended in the book....so supposedly the L-Caratiene is supposed to give you energy....

Re: Did you get a boost of energy?

I have been on it for three days now and felt the boost on the second day, it was awesome. I have cut my sleep down by like an hour or two but feel refreshed when I wake. I dont know why i do and some it seems dont? Maybe I think cause my body shouldnt really be on high carb and it seems to thrive on low carb. I put on weight when eating high carbs like its going out of style. I can put on 20 pounds in under a month easy and unfortinutly some people can eat carbs and there still skinny so I must be sensitive to carbs or maybe my body just doesnt work well witht them. I guess that's why most of us are on here.

Re: Did you get a boost of energy?

IM SOOOOOO W/ U! I totally understand what it means to be SENSITive to CARBS. I can put that on 10-15 in a month too if i don't cut all or most carbs out.
Just when u think u gonna binge on carbs think of how u will feel and look after if u eat all those carbs. And dont worry if u fall off the wagon, just get right back on it.

                  Hope that helps.

I wouldn't say I've gotten the energy boost yet, but I notice the sluggishness I always had after eating is gone. The naps after a heavy meal - gone. But alas, no energy boost.

Re: Did you get a boost of energy?

Yes! The second-fifth days I was overly energetic, to the point of jitters. I felt like I could do anything, so I did all this housework, studying, and exercise. I also slept less at night (insomnia) and eliminated my afternoon naps. Unfortunately the week after that I had no energy to work out intensely and had muscle cramps from lack of potassium (that has been corrected). But now... on OWL, the burst is over and I'm experiencing a steady stream of energy throughout the day. I'm so glad I cut out refined carbs.

Re: Did you get a boost of energy?

I started induction last week on Monday 25th. I haven't felt any energy boost. In fact, I feel a bit fatigued. I came home from being out and doing errands today, and fell asleep in the afternoon into the nighttime!l

I remember when I was doing atkins 2 years ago, i felt fatigued a bit after a longer period of being on it.

I do not know what is happening to the body when I feel this way.
There is supposed to be an energy boost during induction?

I have not gotten any energy boost to speak of, however; I do notice that if I get less sleep or a bad night's sleep, I still have a good amount of energy the next day. Although I have never felt an "energy boost", I do feel a sort stability throughout the day. I no longer experience highs and lows in energy. (Say around three or four in the afternoon) For me personally, this took around two weeks to notice these perks!
