  • Week 1 down

I started induction one week ago. I honestly wasn't sure I would survive the 3 days of detox headache (only from sugar/carbs- not caffeine- I've been caffeine free for a long time), but I did.

I have been drinking enough water to float.

I survived my 1st party with only the smallest slip (bit of brownie). And NO alcohol. Lots of food- but all on plan. I didn't track very well and expect I went over in carbs with veggies and cheese.

I am in love with Linda's recipe site.

(I am waiting to receive my book- I know I need it but I appreciate the support from this board so much in the meantime.)

    I lost 7 lbs!

I am actually looking forward to this week!

I do have 1 question- I feel like I need a bit of a break from eggs for breakfast... does anyone else have creative Induction options for breakfast?

    Thanks for all your support!

      Re: Week 1 down

I just finished my first week yesterday, also down 7lbs. You can have whatever you want for breakfast, doesn't have be an official breakfast food as long as it's on the induction list. You could have left overs or whatever. I am almost ready to try the eggnog shake, been working up to it. It's raw eggs, cream, splenda, a dash of vanilla and ice cubes I think. Don't have the recipe open in front of me.

Sounds like you are doing great so far, good luck

        Well done so far, Sally

As poobears said, any food can be breakfast food I often plan to have leftovers from my previous evening's meal to eat cold or reheated, one member used to have beanless chilli!!

So pick anything you like from the allowed list and enjoy!

Thanks all and congrats to you, too poobears1972.

I am really stuck on the breakfast thing- I usually want breakfasty foods in the morning, and am getting tired of eggs- anyway you cook them they are still eggs.

I'll have to get creative I guess with the way I think about breakfast.

I often make crustless quiches at the weekend so I can grab a slice or two for breakfast or a snack.
They are a good way of sneaking your veggies in too!
You can make large ones or mini ones and include any kind of cooked meats and/or veggies along with the cream, eggs and cheese.
To me they don't taste too 'eggy' especially if I use lots of veggies.

There is a recipe for breakfast mini-quiches in the recipe database in my signature.

This morning for me it's sausage mixed with sauteed portabello mushrooms and cheese. Yum.

I've been wanting to try those quiches. I guess I'd have to get the scale out since it's odd ounces. Anyone ever break it down to tablespoons etc?

Do you just measure each thing on a scale? They look so yummy

Are you trying to compare a measurement of volume with a measurement of weight?

                            Re: Week 1 down

I'm referring to the US adjustments they made:

70 grs heavy cream (2,46 oz)
100 grs soft cheese (3,52 oz)
                            50 grs bacon (1,76 oz)
90 grs edam cheese (3,17 oz)

Those are odd weights so do those making them weigh everything out. Also I was asking if anyone makes them a lot and has figured out the rough measurements. Like 2 tbsp of heavy cream, 4 slices bacon, 1/4c cheese (just random examples not actual guesses LOL)

I have a food scale and can measure if needed. I'll just measure then convert them myself if no one else has. I'd rather not use the scale everytime I want to make them.
