  • 14 Days Down!

I have completed 14 days of Induction and am down to 170 from 178. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. This website was a huge help with motovation and advice.

Now I am really not sure if I should continue with Induction or move in to OWL. I want to stay on induction because I am pretty comfortable with it, but I will be trying to conceive within the next few weeks and am not sure if I should. I know that when I do get preggo, I should be in the maintenance phase because it is best for the health of the fetus. I just dont want to jump from Induction to Maintenance. Could I get some advice of this? Thanks!

Congratulations on losing those excess pounds

With round about 40 pounds left to shed I cannot see any likely benefit in staying on inuduction any longer.

Also with the possibility of becoming pregnant and needing to move to maintenance in the near future I would think that starting to add the 'good carbs' that your body will need for your growing baby sooner rather than later is the best plan.

so read up on the rules of OWL and decide which extra 5 net carbs of induction-legal veggies you want to add first and see how far up the carbohydrate ladder you manage to climb before you get the good news!

The higher up the OWL ladder you can get before that the easier it will be to move to maintenance levels of carbs and food choices.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

        Congrats on those 8 lbs!

Since you have a low degree of metabolic resistance, your carbohydrate level for Maintenance will probably be somewhere in the 60-90 g range.

I agree with Elizellen that there's no reason not to move to OWL.
