  • Not hungry enough - Day 5

    Today is the start of day 5 of my induction. The first day I had no trouble eating what was required. The second day I did OK but after the third day, I just wasn't hungry enough. I have to remind myself to eat something. It seems like I just don't get that hungry anymore. Does anyone else seem to notice this? The other day I didn't really want to eat dinner but I had a small salad with some chicken. I just seem so full all the time. Even thinking about the next meal makes me sick. I like what I am eating but it just feels like I am full all the time.

    I would loved to have this feeling with regular carb foods but those just made me hungry. I know I have to eat to keep my body from going into starvation mode. Boy, I would never have thought that I would be saying I hated being full, LOL. I was just wondering if anyone else is having this so called problem? I have lost 4 lbs in the first 4 days so I am doing fine that way.

    Ketosis is a natural appetite suppressant.

    The best thing to do is to eat through this ... even if you have to graze throughout the day ... and even if you have to eat when you're not hungry.

    Skipping a meal is counter-productive ... it doesn't take long to put your body in famine mode ... and the losing stops.

    When this happened to me, I simply ate by the clock!

    And ... this is very common.

      congratulations you are in Atkins ketosis.
      Dr Atkins says don't eat a meal if you are not hungry so don't. He says not to go 6 waking hours without eating but he also says if you ahve to use that 6hour rule you should be having a small snack with some protein, fat, and a bit of your veggies. Your body will not let you go into starvation mode because it will use hunger signals to tell you it needs food even when your appetite is suppressed. Things like cravings, feeling light headed or dizzy, being confused, agitated, tired, weak, fuzzy thinking and other things are all ways your body will tell you I need food. listen to it and then be like the picky toodles eat when you are hungry and just nibble when you are not and it is time for food. Some dayds you will be hard pushed to eat 1000 cals and other days you will be hungry and eating 3000. It doesn't matter as long as you are feeding your hunger and stopping even if you got room in your belly ,food on the plate and/or carbs in the budget.

        isn't the no hunger a foreign feeling? this wol is the only one to give me that feeling. i can not ever remember not being hungry, that is why low calorie, low fat low whatever else has never worked... very thankful for the world of ketosis makes me feel somewhat normal!!!!
