They are moving stuff everywhere in hopes you buy more. Took me forever yesterday to shop. But I managed to stay the course!

Re: Grocery stores getting smarter. ??
GOOD FOR YOU!
Bring along a copy of the Induction acceptable foods list when you shop. That way, if you see a food (especially if it is on sale!
) you can check to see if it is okay for your Atkins. It's better than buying something, bringing it home, and looking it up just to find, it isn't on the acceptable foods list.

I just shop the perimeter of the store: produce --> seafood --> meats --> dairy. They don't move that around much but you would think that it would take me much less time shopping. It still takes me forever.
p.s. Once in a while I do go down the isles for canned tomatoes or oils/mayo. I hope they're in the same spot next time.

They do move them around regularly. I try to be a disciplined shopper but not always perfect.

They pay people a lot of money to come up with new ways of getting you to buy things you don't need.
The oldest trick in the book being putting the milk in the back of the store so you have to walk though everything when you run in real quick.
Also on the shelves look high and low. They put what they want you to buy at eye level (and stuff they want to impulse your kids into getting you to buy at their eye level).
