Re: Day 5 and no weight loss?
First of all, it can happen to lose no weight in the first 5 days.Originally posted by teetiefunk View Postthis is day 5 for me and I have been so strict with myself
What do you mean by "so strict" though? If you want to post a menu, with quantities and net carbs for all foods, we could take a look at it. If you are using FitDay, it would be even better to share the link to your public page.
Does this mean you've lost inches? Losing inches is an indicator of fat loss.no weight loss? I do feel like i have lost weight though."Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

Re: Day 5 and no weight loss?
Well I am a seasoned atkiner I done it for two years before going to India and it's impossible to do it over there and survive lol everything has sugar in it. So I know DANDR inside and out and I religiously have stuck to under 20g carbs have got all my veggie and water, the only thing it may be I'd that I had a cup of coffee with cream and splenda yesterday but I used to have that with no problems before. I don't use fitday as it's too americanised and it's a hassle to convert weight such as "cups" so I use another UK program and have been averaging at 19g per day. A typical menu would be two fried eggs 2 rashers bacon and 3 fried mushrooms ( bacon isn't sweetcured) then for lunch half avocado with prawn Mayo salad ( homemade Mayo) dinner is steak or chicken stir fry with broccoli, pepper, pak choi and loads of water. Thanks for any help x

So that's net carbs, not total carbs, right?Originally posted by teetiefunk View PostI religiously have stuck to under 20g carbs
You can use grams in FitDay... that's what I do.I don't use fitday as it's too americanised
The program you're using should be fine, too.
How much water are you drinking?
Are approximately 65% of your calories coming from fat?
And... did you lose inches? Are your clothes looser?"Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

Re: Day 5 and no weight loss?
i havent measured but it seems like my stomach is a lot less bloated, not noticed that my clothes are looser yet. Yeah thats net carbs UK food labels take fibre off for you. I just don't know. I have been eating high fat and drinking more than 8 glasses per day. I've also been to the gym three times this week. Maybe I'll get a whoosh, maybe its just water retention or something? Thank you so much for your help x

When you went to India, were you in Maintenance?Originally posted by teetiefunk View PostWell I am a seasoned atkiner I done it for two years before going to India and it's impossible to do it over there and survive lol everything has sugar in it.
Also: Given the "sugar" comment, am I the only one shocked that the only obese Indians are those who adopt a Westernized diet?
(No, I'm not really shocked.)

Re: Day 5 and no weight loss?
This may not be the case with you but I often find that us seasoned atkineers are the worst at induction. We pick up habits that we know we may get away with, the odd nut here or there, a sugarfree candy, a tortilla. And so what we think is induction is nothing like it and often we are shocked when we do not see results we expectedOriginally posted by teetiefunk View PostWell I am a seasoned atkiner I done it for two years before going to India
I am just throwing that out there.
What kind of eating did you come off when you went on Atkins?

Re: Day 5 and no weight loss?
Well I was in goa and most of them are very overweight and most pre type two diabetes they really have a bad diet. It's all eating out every night and going to peoples houses for dinner. I was on maintenance then but my carbs were still pretty low I couldn't go over 50 without putting weight on
