  • anyone having sleep problems?

    I am on day 10. I have been feeling great, increased energy, feeling satisfied, and excited about healthy eating. I am, however, struggling with sleep patterns. I search around and didn't really find anything on this subject. Here is what is going on....

    Days 1 & 2... I was waking at 4 am to use the bathroom. I could not fall back asleep. Fine, I got a lot done those days .
    Days 3 & 4... bit of a problem. 4 am is causing lack of sleep and it is worrying me. On day 4 I am also feeling less energy during day.

    Days 5 & 6... decide to have a glass of wine (6 oz). I know it is a no no but feeling desperate. I woke at 4 am, but fell back asleep. .
    Day 7 ... no wine to help sleep. Woke at 4 tossed and turned, got up at 5.

    Days 8 & 9 ... Had a drink both nights, just like days 5 & 6.

    I have stalled and have been at 128 since weigh in on day 7. I am thinking it is because of the wine to aide me to stay sleeping but don't know what else I can do about it. My sleep patterns before were pretty regular & consistent. 10pm-7am.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

    this is your "burst" of energy.

    Try to see if going to bed earlier helps. Also make use of that time. I like to exercise first thing in the morning (to get it out of the way.)

      Guess it wouldn't hurt to try.
      Just seems so odd to me this 4am time.
      I will just assume my body is working so hard burning the fat, that it wakes me up.

        Are you taking calcium magnesium? Sometimes I save a piece of cheese for before bedtime to help me relax. (calcium) also take melatonin. Warm hearbal 'sleepitime' tea is nice too. a hot bath.

          No, just a multivitamin for women.
          Just bought melatonin today (hubby had found somewhere that it is suppose to help).
          Problem isn't so much falling asleep, it is going back to sleep a little longer at that 4am time.

          I am keeping my fingers crossed.

            im having the same problem. the day before and this morning i have waken up between 4 and 6am and had a hard time getting back to sleep

              I have been getting less sleep, but I feel so good when I wake up now. I used to get 8 hours sleep and feel groggy in the morning. Now, I am getting 6 hours sleep but I wake up full of energy.

                I also feel a lot peppier in the morning, but start to get really tired around 7:30pm. My kids are not ready to go to bed until after nine.
                I was hoping to hear from someone that this interruption in sleep was only temporary, just like the headaches in the beginning.

                Maybe the melatonin will help tonight.

                    Sorry for the late response, I really haven't incorporated one yet. I am planning on starting on Wii Active, then joining Anytime fitness.

                    The melatonin worked pretty good last night. And it was pretty cheap at Meijer's. I am thinking it is my body getting use to the diet changes. I also started today on strictly decaf coffee.

                      My insomnia significantly escalated on Atkins. Calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, and melatonin could not touch it. I had to resort to Benadryl which seriously stalls weight loss.
