i got uncured bacon but it has evaporated cane juice in it

Ok...I just came back from the store now. I looked at every single brand of bacon. All had sugar except for Oscar Mayer smoked uncured bacon with no nitrates added. It says natural, minimally processed, no artifical ingredients.

I looked on the ingredients it has, pork, water, sea salt, evaporated cane juice, celery powder and lactic acid starter culture.

Of course it has no carb, but is evaporated cane juice ok? (cane is sugar)

No, it's not ok.

That being said, many of us still eat bacon on occasion even with the sugar.

It's a trade off here ... no nitrates.

dam thats something i didnt think about thaks for bringing this topic up. i bought a big pack of already cooked bacon. it says no carbs but i didnt read the fine print. im pretty sure with it being already cooked it has to have something bad in there for me. i ate 3 slices today

WOW... This is my first and last pack of bacon!

So tell me, the serving size is 2 slices of bacon has 70 calories, 5g fat, 6 protien, and 0 carb.

But since it has evaportaed cane juice in it, what do I count 2 pieces of bacon as carb count???

will this take me right out of ketosis?

kroger makes a sugar free bacon.
nitrates are not the evil cancer causing chemical the world beleived them to be back when Dr Atkins was alive. they are actually health chemicals in our bodies that are used in low oxygen times as the oxygen supply

You didn't.

I would count this bacon the same as any bacon that's cured with sugar ... and Fitday has it at 3 net carbs per pound.

I have to change my bacon enrty on fitday then. I entered the bacon i had tonight as a 'custom food' with 0 carbs!
