  • help ! i am in need of a mentor!

My name is April I have a 6 year old son and a soon to be husband and they both are not on diet with me. I need help in planning out meals. I am so used to making the two day meals like spaghetti and roast and potatoes and stuff like that. I'm having hard time thinking of something that I can cook that won't take me having a lot of spices and my pantry full of items. I am on tight buget due to upcoming wedding and its hard to buy from them plus me plus cook and plan meals for both. Does anyone have a cheap 2 week induction plan and by chance have it broke down into a good shopping list? Please help

eggs are cheap and a great food item on atkins them being 61% fat and all

can't really think of anything els thats really cheap though i know you can get non organic beef fat for free at the store but thats not saying much because organic grass fed beef fat would be the one you would want it haveing omega-3 and such but its not easy to get

also if you can grow your own vegetables its a lot cheaper

What a lot of our members do is plan their meals around their own Atkins phase and add an extra 'side' or two for the rest of the family.

So if you are cooking meat and a salad for yourself add a baked potato or rice/pasta for the others so you are not cooking 2 separate meals.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

My grocer sells a 10lb box of bacon, it's labeled odd size pieces about 75%are regular bacon pieces, the rest are short/odd cuts that work great to cook up for salads etc. It's $14 and a 1lb pack of bacon here is $2.50 and up. Saves quite a bit buying the big box. Then just divide it and freeze in the whatever size packs you need.

I buy onions, peppers etc when they are on sale, chop them up and freeze them in baggies. Saves money and makes cooking faster since they are all ready to go.

Keep an eye on grocery store sales flyers. We have a local market in my area that has a special on every type of meat each week. I bought 10 lbs of chopped sirloin for $26 and made a huge meatloaf and meatballs (no bread crumbs, of course!) and my family of 5 picked at it for the entire week. You can also make things like that and freeze them. I got sick of meatloaf after 3 days.. lol!
