Come on day 5 of induction!!!!! Yippee but I ran into a wall this morning but I did good. This morning I was fixing my son's cereal and out of old habbit I stuck a few fruit loops in my mouth then immediately realized what I did and ran to the trash can. Can you believe that? Erghhh I was sooooo mad. I actually wanted to cry because it actually showed me why I am the way I am. I hope that I'm not sleep eating because that would be horrible. Well I may not lose anything this week but overall I have done good and hope to continue besides fruit loop ordeal only other mistake I made was early on this week I ate an atkins bar on tues and weds not realizing that you shouldn't. So here goes weekend 1 hopefully its a good one.

Re: Habits have to be destroyed!!!
Well, luckily my husband and I are both doing the plan.My daughter is not, however she eats a lot of what we make for dinner. Before I go grocery shopping I plan out a weeks menu, breakfast, lunch, dinner. I buy food for her and for ourselves. There are a lot of really good recipes online for low carb and I look at them a lot, especially Linda's Low Carb Menus. Website is www.genaw.com/lowcarb/.
Also I have both of Sugar Free Sheila's cook books, another source of great recipes. Website is sugarfreesheila.com. She also has some recipes online.
Also I bought Low Carb for Dummies recipe book, and have found alot of great recipes in there.
There is a forum on here for recipes as well.
Since my daughter isn't doing low carb and doesn't need to by any means, I give her things with our meals that we can't have , like a slice of bread with butter, corn, etc. The farther we move up the rungs the easier it wil get. Within the next week of so I plan on moving to Rung 2, and I can have cottage cheese which both my daughter and I love.
Good luck. My advice would be just to plan out your receipes in advance. I actually find the low carb recipes are a ton better. I used to cook Hamburger Helper like it was going out of style, now I know what is in my food and it tastes fresh and good.

Re: Habits have to be destroyed!!!
Hi April
Congrats on making it to day 5 despite the Fruit Loop incident. I saw your siggy about cooking for others in the house. I shop and cook not only for myself but also for my 17 year old son. You'd be hard pressed to find an ounce of visible fat on that kid - all muscle - serious athlete.
I approach the challenge by having the main meal and veggie one that we both eat. I then prepare one additional side for him. Some nights he eats the veggie and salad with me, other nights it's the veggie and maybe mac & cheese or mashed potatoes. Maybe once per week I will make something like a meatloaf (his favorite food) in a smaller portion and make mine without the bread and ketchup (an individual serving). Even then though, the basic meat remains the same for us all. I've prepared fried fish for him and then baked that same fish for myself.
What I'm saying is approach it as if you still are shopping for one meal then just alter it as needed.
Good luck!

good for you realizing they were not low carb atkins legal and not swallowing them. I know one low carber that wears a dust mask when she cooks so she doesn't keep tasting and nibbling. removing the mask to put something in her mouth forces her to realize she is eating it and better count it.by the book atkinseer
