  • Net Carbs in Veggies

    Hi,
How do you calculate the NET Carbs in Veggies? I am using FitDay and there is no mention of the net carbs...it just shows the carbs. I am sticking to 20 carbs per day but just realized that is not NET carbs...maybe that is why I am not losing....
Where can I get an accurate count of what the carbs and fiber are in the veggies during induction? is there a list?
I know how to get it it on other products like the bars and shakes but what about the veggies that are fres?
    I am so confused!!

    Re: Net Carbs in Veggies

You subtract the fiber from the total carbs.

You can do it for each food by clicking on the food and looking at the nutritional label.

If you look at the graph below your food log, there's your daily total. You can subtract the fiber there, too, though it's for the whole day.

Some people enter all their vegetables first ... so the total in the graph is just for the vegetables.

Some people use All Things Food and Diet - FatSecret because you can see "net" carbs.

I use fitday. If I am going to eat a salad, I measure out about a cup of lettuce and then decided to have a couple sllices of cucumber, a half of a large tomato, I put it in fitday, questimate because its difficult to measure lettuce, and add it to my food list. On the bottom is a pie chart and next to it is where the fiber is listed. Just subtract it from the total carbs and you got it, my friend.

Post a complete menu and we'll take a look. Also include quantities and net carbs for all foods and drinks.

FitDay is accurate. It uses the USDA database.

I know how to get it it on other products like the bars and shakes
Is it because they are written on the label?

Free, you mean? There are no "free" vegetables. All vegetables have carbs, and you need to count them.

I think the OP meant fresh since fresh veggies don't have labels on them.

those you can use fitday for and enter them as raw _____ and fill the blank with your veggie name like raw tomato
