  • Full but hungry feeling? Any advice?

    I felt really "icky" today, for lack of a better term. I felt full but I also felt very hungry at the same time! That probably sounds weird, but it's true. I also had a bad headache and was kind of irritable. This ever happen to anyone else?

    Both can be symptoms of low blood sugar. Eating smaller meals more frequently will probably help.

    Also, eat all your vegetables and spread your veggie net carbs throughout the day. Over half of the net carbs you consume should come from vegetables.

    Make sure you are not undereating calories. There's no reason to starve yourself of Atkins. It will likely only slow down your weight loss.

    And if you are hungry, definitely eat something.

      I've been drinking a decent amount of water (I think?) Probably about 10 or so bottles a day (.5L a bottle). I'll definitely try to eat smaller meals more frequently. I'm keeping up on the veggies because, thankfully, I love them!

          According to fitday.com where I log all my food I'm only consuming about 1,000 calories a day. I don't know how to increase it! I feel like I'm eating enough, where can I find these magic calories?! lol

            Fats. Oils, butter, fattier cuts of meat, avocado...

            What percentage of your daily calories is coming from fat?

              Sniper I am having similar symptoms today too and not understanding what's going on. I forced myself to eat breakfast crustless quiche packed to meat and induction veggies and some cheese). I had 1.5 cups of coffee with creamer and splenda too.

              By noon (est) I was having burning hunger stomach pains so I made 5 oz of pork along with tuna salad wrapped in lettuce. After two bites I was full and forced myself to eat all of it. Now it's 1:45 and I am having the same burning feeling inside my stomach.

              I hope you feel better.

                    Hmmm thanks. So heavy whipping cream is allowed but not half and half at less than 1 gram a carb per a 2 tbls serving? Don't tell me whipping cream isn't allowed because Atkins cookbook has a recipe with it in it good for inductions 1-4.
                    I really gotta find my book. I've been using "creamer" almost everyday since I started 12 days ago and I've lost 5 lbs. And last year and lost 20 lbs.

                    Ok, I will find an alternative for my coffee since it will be a problem.

                      Hi Sniper. My rule is eat when your hungry and if your only eating 1000 calories, I really believe your not eating enough fat. Could you post your menu from yesterday

                        I use heavy cream in my coffee. It actually tastes a lot better than half-and-half in my opinion. Then again, I'm not big on milk in general.

                        Yesterday I actually ate a lot of crappy food. I live in MD and we were completely snowed in, so I couldn't make it to the store. It looks like all I ate were eggs, green peppers, cheese and salad. That's probably why I felt so horrid yesterday.

                        Today I feel MUCH better (probably because I was a fool and treked my sports car through the snow to get food). I've eaten a good amount of veggies so far today along with an omelette and some pork.

                        I guess yesterday was just a bad day? lol

                          since you are us9ng fitday check your reports section and see if you are vit and/or mineral defieicnt. With all the fluids you are drinking you could be washing your water soluble vits and minerals out and need to pick foods higher in them.

                          JaxMama glad you realized it was heartburn and not hunger you were feeding.

                              put your vitamin in fitday as a custom food and then eat one in your daily fitday foods.

                              Water soluble vits and minerals will be peed out regardless of their source. that is why so many athletes take so many when they are drinking large amounts of fluids as part of their hydration program.
