  • Is it normal to be a bit moody?

I feel aggrivated and cranky... Not all the time but I feel like I am a bit easier to get impatient with things.

Has anyone else experienced a bit of aggravation? Not because of food but just daily living, things make you pissed off a bit easier?

    Why is that?

I think I was a bit grumpier than usual in induction...but that could have been caused by many things...caffeine withdrawl, induction flu, all of the mental energy that went into meal planning/cooking/shopping/counting carbs, etc, irritation at being on a diet (AGAIN), who knows? As far as I know, I am no grumpier/more impatient/pissed off now than I was before I started Atkins (it really isn't necessary for anyone to check with my husband on this...I know I won't )

are you sure you are not hungry cause aggitation can be a symptom of hunger.

Nope, I am not hungry.. Do cutting carbs have an effect on mood?

        Cause I'm usually pretty bubbly!!

I know it's not cafffine withdrawl because I have NOT given up tea (and i do count tea in my fitday) Thats the only thing I have that I should not have on induction that I am still not ready to let go.

Do you really think tea on induction can STALL you? It's not many carb when I put it on Fitday. (i drink tea black no sugar)

To be honest, a few days in a row I did not have all the carbs I should have had. I had like 2% and it was from flaxseed not veggies.

The first few Induction days can be a little touch and go, especially if you are still working on menus and doing all the reading and figuring and such. Once you get it all down, you can relax a little...

...personally, since I have been eating the Atkins way, I feel better than I have in years!!!

Re: Is it normal to be a bit moody?

I definitely felt pissy towards the end of the first week. Nothing major I mean I could still function without biting anyones head off but I got irritated easier. But I had an insane amount of stress going on thanks to a crazy neighbor so wasn't sure if it was from the WOE or lack of sleep from stress.

I feel awesome now, back to my normally mellow non pissy self LOL I think anytime you change what you are putting in your body it can alter your emotions until your body adjusts. Stick with it, you'll be back to bubbly in no time.

I definitely was a bit snippier than normal. It goes away (hopefully - unless my husband was telling me stories ) after a week or so.

Re: Is it normal to be a bit moody?

Yes. I was grumpier than usual. Let's face it, for some of us, food was our drug and not experiencing that temporary anesthetic effect of carbs and sweets was a withdrawal for me. I was angry that I had lost control of my food choices and was going to have to eat differently for the rest of my life. That was then and this is now. Now, I wouldn't have it any other way. I like the progress I have made and the changes in my life.

I think any time you adjust your eating as we are can make your body screwy and make you irritable. I know I get that way!

I hope it eases soon for you.
