  • How does this look?

    Ok, so I think I'm on the right track.

    Can someone PLEASE look at my fit day account for today (today I started recording it there properly) and tell me if this looks like a good induction diet? I've been eating similar to what I recorded in fit day everyday. I counted 16.25g NET carbs.

    I'm going to use this tool everyday to record what I eat. I wasn't doing it before but I find it helpful.

    You need to post a link to your public Fitday.

    og in to Fitday.

    Then on the Profile tab, at the bottom of the page is a link to "Public Setting Page".

    Click on that and then click on the button "Make My Journal Public".

    Then you'll get a link that looks like:

    Post that here.

          I thought margarine was ok if it contained no sugars. I'll switch to butter if it's not ok, I just like margarine better.

            You really should enter your food in the "raw" state as much as possible.

            For example, the fried eggs. I'm sure you started with fresh eggs, right? Which are .39 net carbs for 2 large ... so where does Fitday come up with the other carbs? Ingredients we don't know what they are. So using the entry "eggs, whole, fresh, raw" will be more accurate. Then you can add what ever you cooked them in.

            You shouldn't be using margarine ... butter is what works best. It's a purer fat ... no chance of transfats.

            Good job on entering the spices!!!

            It's not really enough calories for you ... aiming for 10-12 times your current body weight is what will help you lose.

            Also ... the closer you get to 20 net carbs, the more complete your nutrition will be.

            You could probably use some more fat.

            Your protein might be a bit high.

            I wouldn't spend a lot of time on the ratios right now though.

              Nope.

              Dr. Atkins specifically says not to use it.

              Trans fats.

                I've had 64oz of water so far today.
                MORE food?!? I'm having a hard time even eating this. I'll try harder tomorrow. Thanks for your advice on how to enter the foods, I was wondering about that . I made sure the margarine I have doesn't have trans fats, but if butter is the best I will buy that from now on. How else can I increase my calories and decrease my protein?

                  nope it has transfats which are the really on kind of bad fats.

                  Were you hungry at all today after you ate or did you feed your hunger and stop?

                  if so good job.

                  now what are you doing for that mandatory exercise part of your atkins?

                    I would suggest 1/2 your current body weight in ounces of water.

                    Margarine is really a frankenfood ... it's not "real". It's processed.

                    You can increase your calories by adding more fat.

                    I wouldn't worry about the protein at this point.

                    Drink more water ... eat more fat!

                      what brand of margarine are you using? You can use any fat you enjoy EEOV, butter, cocnut oil,avacado oil whatever as long as it is produced in a healthy manner.

                      You don't need to lower your proteins. You are doing fine for an inductee.

                        I ate until I didn't feel hungry anymore and then I stopped. Before I started Atkins I would just graze all day long and eat even when I wasn't hungry just because I was bored.

                        As for exercise:
                        Yesterday I did 30mins of cardio at the gym.

                        Today I wasn't able to make it to the gym but I did walk around the mall with a 2 year old for over an hour lol. So chasing him around and picking him up over and over was a work out! Plus all the cleaning I did today and playing with my son must count for something . Tomorrow I will be going back to the gym.

                          The brand of margarine is actually called "no name". I live in Canada and you can only buy it at Loblows or Real Canadian Superstore. The label says it was 1.5g of saturated fat and no trans fat.

                            that counts ofr a lot / come join the adbb pres challenge and you can actually win a medal playing with your kid

                            Good for you feeding your hunger and stopping. that is one of the hardest lessons for atkinseers to learn but one we need to become goalies.
                            on the way to becoming a goalie we are going to have days when we are hungry and eating a lot and days like you had today where you were not that hungry and even days when we have to use that 6 hr rule just to make ourselves eat a small snack. As long as we feed the hunger and nothing else we are doing it right no matter how many or how few cals and carbs we eat.

                              so it is nonhydrogenated canola oil? the hydrogenation is what makes a fat a trans fat and at the time DANDR was written there did not exist any nonhydrogenated margarines.

                              How do thay make it a solid? nothing added?
