  • Maybe I'm being ridiculous....

    Ok.... SO

    After I counted all the carbs I ate it was a total of 20.29 and I'm really upset about it. Today was the first day I hit 20g *i'm usually slightly under*. I'm not upset about the fact that I hit 20g it's the fact that I went OVER. The amount is slight but still I feel like I failed.

      You didn't go over enough to even think about....now, if you had eaten 30 or 40 net carbs for the day that would be something to be upset about....you're fine.

        When I look at your Fitday, there's 25.4 total carbs and 6.7 fiber.

        My calculator says that's 18.7 net carbs.

        How are you figuring 20.29?

        And ... even if it was 20.29 ... it's not a crisis.

        One doesn't have to worry about less than 1/3 of 1 net carb.

          I look at each ingredient and subtract the dietary fiber.

            Taryn, I would just look at the numbers at the bottom by the pie chart, and subtract there. Like J, I get 25.4g total carbs - 6.7g fiber = 18.7g net carbs.

            Please don't be so hard on yourself! There is nothing magical about the number 20... it is a goal to strive for. I agree with J - even if your net carbs were at 20.29, it is nothing to stress over. Less than a third of a carb is insignificant. I do applaud you for being so diligent with your tracking, though!

                did you count the fiber in your spices, salas, and veggies?

                if yopu look at the bottom of your public link it says your carbs were25.4 and your fiber was 6.7 which when you do your net gives you under 20

                  Scroll down to "Calories Eaten" and Subtract the "Dietary Fiber" from your total carbs of your food log.

                    If you have been doing the maths for each individual food item then your results will be different from taking the total carbs (as in the table at the bottom of the page) less the total fiber because of what they call 'rounding'. As the others have said, it will be more accurate to work with the totals for working out your net carbs over the day.
