  • Bit of a weight gain?

    Hi there,

I started the Atkins diet 6 days ago. I have stuck religiously to the book and suggested menus.
I started off at 11st 13lb and am now 11st 7lb which I'm really pleased with! I know this is mostly water loss, but it's given me such a huge boost, I know this is the way to go.
However, yesterday morning I weighed 11st 6lb, so have put a pound on on a day. Should I be worried at all, or is this normal? My overall weight loss has been 6lb in 6 days.

    Many Thanks
    Amanda

    Welcome to ADBB, Amanda!

Yes, it's normal for your weight to fluctuate from day to day. I'm sure it happened before you started Atkins as well.

      Hi Amanda
Are you in UK? It is good to have another Brit join our international ADBB family

As Georgiana said, our body weight bobs up and down all the time, which is why many people try to weigh only once a week so as not to be upset for nothing
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Thanks for that. I'll try to leave it a few days before I weigh myself again.....then perhaps I won't panic so much!

take your measurements so you can see the inches of body fat being burned off even when the scales don't validate your efforts

Re: Bit of a weight gain?

This might help. This past Monday I weighed in around 158.6. Then on Wed I went up to 159.6, Thursday I was 159.6still up 1lb. Today/Friday I weighed in at 156.6 so down 3lbs. I've heard some people go up a little before they drop. I know my DH does that. This is the first time it's happened to me.

hmmmmm Esther? maybe you made a typo but 11st 6lbs is a loss of 1llb not a gain!

                bye for now
