    Milk ? Cups ?

Ok, now i have looked at the phase 1, and it says scrambled eggs, but it does not say on the list milk is allowed !
How are you meant to make scrambled eggs ?

    Cups of fruit & Veg.
I have a print out of fruit and veg and it doesn't say anywhere there is a limit to the amount of veg, however on a post on this forum, it says 3 cups of salad / veg a day! you are having me on ? 3 cups!
Taking that i am a veg & fruit girl, my aim was

    Breakfast:
    Scrambled eggs (2) sausage (1)
    or Bacon Omelette

    Lunch
Salad (4 mixed cups) plus some chicken or cheese
    Homemade soups

    snacks
    Cheese strings
    olives
    celery

Dinner - going by the book for meals from this, tuna, beef and chicken meals with veg.

All in all, I guess there will be about 6-7 cups of veg or salad a day limiting to 3 cups as per the forum is near impossible.

Have it got the plan right or wrong ?

    That's because it's not allowed!

    >> How are you meant to make scrambled eggs ?>>

    Cream or water.

    >> I have a print out of fruit and veg and it doesn't say anywhere there is a limit to the amount of veg,>>

    Where is your "printout" from?

I assume you don't have a copy of the book, Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution.

    >> Salad (4 mixed cups)>>

As you know from your reading here, the limit is 2 cups of salad vegetables and 1 cup of "other" vegetables.

    >>limiting to 3 cups as per the forum is near impossible.>>

No, it's not. Lots of people do it!

    >>

    Yes to both!

You have the plan wrong. Do you have the book? Trying to get the entire plan just from reading posts here is difficult if even possible.

But to answer you question. On induction (the first phase) you are only allowed 3 cups of salad vegetables per day, while limiting your carb intake to 20 grams. You are allowed to eat liberally of fish, and meat, and cheese is limited to four ounces per day. Your additional vegetables are added in OWL rung 1.

And you do not need milk to make scambled eggs, just scramble them.

AMEN! It is truly hard to put a book's worth of details into a post. Here is a little something I put together to help those who are starting out, and are waiting on their book:

Just put your eggs in a cup or bowl, using a fork or whisk beat the eggs, and cook to order. I use butter. Water and Heavy cream/(milk substitute) can be added, but they are not necessary.

I often fry up some onions first, and when they are ready, I pour the beaten eggs over them.

            Re: Milk ? Cups ?

I have had the book on order for about 10 days now, hence loging on line as i am feed up waiting around doing nothing.

            i got the details from:Atkins-EMEA - Phase 1
Feel-good foods, real-life flexibility & expert guidance with Atkins’ science-backed, high protein lifestyle. Support your weight loss & metabolic health.

and there is no mention that only 2-3 cups of salard and veg is allowed, just 15-20 Net carbs should be from them.

i am really really worried about starting this now. i don't like, eggs at all, and i am not a keen meat eater. so my plan was 80% veg and bit of meat. if i can only eat 3 cups i am going to be starving.

i thought providing your veg and salad intake was 10-15net carbs it didn't matter if this was made up of 3 cups or 10.

i have been using this for a Carbohydrate Counter Atkins-EMEA - Interactive tools

anyone with any hints and tips would be helpful.

The current thinking at Atkins.com is 12-15 net carbs from vegetables.

              I've certainly seen that work.

                  Re: Milk ? Cups ?

On the scrambled eggs I use a spoonful of sour cream if I'm out of heavy whipping cream. Makes them fluffy and yummy, I don't like them without adding something to fluff them.
