Today is my sixth day into my 14 day induction. I have been very strict, very much by the book, including:
On day three I registered "moderate" on my ketostic. On day four it registered "negative." This morning (day 6) it registered "trace."
As of this morning I have lost 2.8 lbs from my starting point.
My question for anyone is should I be concerned about the ketostix readings? Physically I feel fine, not significantly different but good (probably due to not drinking the alcohol each evening).
I read about people loosing 10 to 15 pounds during induction and approaching half way to have lost only 2.8 lbs. I feel cautiously optimistic and resisting being a little discouraged.
I enjoy meat, eggs and the limited amount of vegetables allowed during the phase and have no problem staying on course.
Anyone have comments / suggestions / ideas to give me perspective as to how things are going based on the information I have provided?
Thanks,
John
- Giving up my evening crown royal cocktail(s);
- Giving up my four to six cups of coffee; (strictly decaff)
- Switched to Diet Right Cola but limit myself to no more than four/day when I do drink it;
- Written done my net carbs and have not exceeded 15 on any day, most are under 10 carbs;
- Drink at least 64 oz. of water each day;
- Mindful of portions and not over-eating;
- Using the Atkins Advantage bars and protein shakes to satisfy a sweet-tooth (have had a total of three bars and one shake over six days).
