    Hi.

    Rule #1 of Induction states:

Eat either three regular-size meals a day or four or five smaller meals. Do not skip meals or go more than six waking hours without eating.

So as long as you don't go more than 6 waking hours without eating, you'll be okay.

      You shoudl be fine!

You should be fine eating 3 meals a day. I only eat 3 meals a day, and every now and then I add in a snack. Sometimes I have to make myself eat, because this WOE satisfies hunger faster and longer. The meal are important, because they fuel your body--so make sure you get atleast 3 in a day.

        Hi and Good Luck!

Welcome Babylo - I'm so glad you found this forum. If you follow the DANDR you will do well. Never go hungry and never skip breakfast.

Not eating enough is never my problem lol...

If you don't eat enough food your body will cling to the fat it has and that could prevent weight loss, so watch that balance carefully. Be sure to use Fitday so you can track your daily fat percentage and keep it 65%. I know that sounds crazy if you have been a former victim of the low fat diet mentality. It is a new way of thinking. But it works!

thanks everyone.... I mostly eat just chicken and i was wondering whether adding low carb (5g) protein shakes is good since i dont have that much time to snack on food. i am a college student so i barely find time to eat between classes and studying.. I mostly eat the bourbon chicken from a chinese resturant and water.. although i can start to feel my body get tired.. Does that mean i am not eating enough food? i just bought some multivitamins so i need to load up on those.

                Hello again,

yes there is probably alot that you dont know. I can almost be certain that if that chicken is from a resturant, then there is stuff in there that you shouldnt be eating. There is a wallet sized "Acceptable Foods" list on the top of this forum as a sticky, if I remember correctly. You can go to Atkins.com and go to Induction and see an over view. But the best thing you could have done for yourself is READ THE BOOK, DANDR, 2002 Edition. You actually should have already read it. Happy Locarbing to you!

Babylo if you haven't yet got a copy of DANDR take a trip to the FAQ forum here http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...orum.php?f=106 and read the first half a dozen threads which cover induction.

Atkins is a high fat, medium protein, low carb way of eating and we aim for a balance of 65% fat/30% protein/5% carbs on induction.

There is a website called www.fitday.com where you can log all you eat and find out if you are in the right area with your foods. A sticky thread in the FAQ forum and one in this 14-day induction forum tells you a bit about using it.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

I have found that once I get all the blood sugar problems out of my system, my body tells me when to eat and how much. I never really understood this until now. I start to feel hungry, and I know it's time to eat. Then, I start to feel full. I stop and wait until I'm hungry again to eat. I've found that I eat 3-4 times a day. Without all the sugar ups and downs, the cravings and enjoyment of eating just don't come into play. You eat to live. It's an enlightening feeling, and it's horrifying to think of how much you used to eat. Well, maybe not "horrifying", but you think, "no wonder I couldn't lose weight!"
I'm 26 years old, and I lost weight on this plan in 2005. I'm getting married in August and thought this would be the way to go after making little progress on other diets. I've got 20 lbs to lose for the big day!
