  • A little puzzled...

    Hey Guys,

I just had a question and hoped someone could help. I'm in my second week of induction, Day 12. I plan on going on extended-induction because I have a long way to go. I'm not sure exactly how much I weigh, but it's in the mid 200's for sure. (I'm getting a scale next week, I've just been extra broke). BUT, I can say that I see a sizable difference in my legs, face, and arms...even ONE of my love handles has shrank to almost non-existence (hope that's not tmi ) --- I think I lost most of that in the 1st week, but it seems to be getting slower (at least visually to me) this week.

Anywho, I've been hearing a lot about this fitday, so I got an account and I just put in what i ate this morning, 3 fried eggs, and 2 pieces of bacon. Here's where I'm confused.

1.) It said that I had taken in 25.9 grams of carbs from just that meal.
2.) I thought we weren't suppose to have over 20 grams per day.
3.) I ate strictly from the approved list.

Am I doing something wrong? Confused! Help! I sooo wanna do this diet right, and I haven't cheated once.

    Thanks so much guys!

You should enter your eggs as "eggs, whole, raw".

Did you enter your bacon cooked or raw?

It shouldn't be 25.9 carbs ... something must be wrong with your entries.

If you want to provide a link to your Fitday, we can take a look.

And ... you have to subtract the fiber to get net carbs ... that's in the Calories Eaten Today window.

      Re: A little puzzled...

http://fitday.com/fitness/FoodLog.html here is the link. thanks so much for the help!

I entered the bacon "thin slice yeild after cooking"...not that I really know what that means.
I eneterd the eggs "large eggs"

I will take a second look and try to correct the problems you stated. Thanks alot!

      Also, what does this mean?

And ... you have to subtract the fiber to get net carbs ... that's in the Calories Eaten Today window.

I will try to play with it and figure it out. I was just curious.

      Thanks again

look at the amount you added. the default on fitday is cups of eggs not individual eggs. change yours to 3 large small or whatever size egg you had and see if your carbs don't come down.

also for bacon make sure you got pieces and not rashers or pounds

your link has to have your fitday account name in it after you make it a public journal.

are you sure you are looking at the carbs and not the fats cause 3 fried eggs and 2pieces of bacon is 1.4 carbs on my fitday

              Re: A little puzzled...

Awww, I see what happened. It said "Eggs Benedict"...Once I made it "3 whole fried eggs" the carbs went waay down to 3.4 grams.

Which means that minus the dietary fiber, which in this case was 0.0, the net carbs are 3.4. Does that sound more correct guys?

p.s. gonna play with it again and get it to be public.

                >>you have to subtract the fiber to get net carbs ... that's in the Calories Eaten Today window.>>

In the Calories Eaten Today window, there's a listing for Fat, Protein, Carbohydrates, Fiber, etc.

You know that "net carbs" is carbohydrates minus fiber.

Fitday counts "total carbs" so you have to subtract the fiber on your own.

You should use "eggs, whole, raw".

Fried eggs add ingredients ... most cooked food in Fitday has added ingredients.

Thanks so much for that tip! Does that rule go for anything (or everything) else on fitday too?
