  • Hi from a newbie excited to share results!

    Hi!

I started Atkins induction on last Monday, February 15 and I'm down 7 1/2 pounds as of this morning!!! This is amazing! I just wanted to say thank you to all of you! This is my first post, but I've gotten a lot of help and recipes from you by reading these boards. I have 30 more pounds to go and I can't wait to get there. Depending upon the rate of the weight loss, I may just stay on induction the whole time.

Anyway, I wanted to say Thanks!!!! I look forward to posting updates and will figure out how to list it like you guys have.

    Have a great day!

How lovely to meet you Kim.
That is great success you're having there. Way to go.

We (and Dr. Atkins) in his book does not recommend doing induction for the whole weightloss. It may be too hard to be able to hang on to the weightloss if you do that. What Atkins recommend is to try out more carbs gradually to see how many carbs you can safely eat so that you can maintain. That is what I did and so far so good.

Re: Hi from a newbie excited to share results!

Thanks, Liv. I appreciate the feedback. I'll admit I haven't read the first book. I went to Borders last weekend and bought the Atkins for Life, unaware that it wouldn't really address induction. I thought about checking out the original book at the library yesterday, but didn't make it there and kind of thought that I'm doing well enough. Obviously, I need to read the book! I'll go get it tomorrow or maybe after I go to the gym today.

      Thanks again!

      Kim

I'm not sure what "the first book" you are referring to is, but the book we follow here is the 2002 edition of Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution.

Congrats on your results so far!
