  • First Two Weeks Completed

Hi. I have just finished my first two weeks induction yesterday and was a little annoyed. I lost 7lb my first week that I was over the moon about but annoyed that I only lost three this week. I know, I know, that is a great amount of weight loss but I was looking for a little more since it was the first two weeks. However, when i measured my waist i had lost 7inches!Just goes to show, its not just about the scales. I was reading the board earlier and 'TOM' can have an effect on weight lose too. I was in my first tricky situation today when we went out for my mums but I was really pleased with myself and stuck to the plan while everyone was tucking into scampi, chips, steak pie, potatoes etc. When we left everyone felt tired and stuffed and could hardly move cause they were all laiden down with heavy carbs but not me. I left happy and satisfied. Even had some water instead of my usual bacardi and diet coke.

    You're "annoyed" with 3 pounds a week?

That's 10 pounds in two weeks.

Women lost at the statistical rate of 1/2 to 1 pound per week.

How many weeks are you planning on?

Congratulations on a great first two weeks! AND to boot, you stayed strong over a birthday celebration! That is hard when first starting out. 10 lbs is a great motivator! Remember that your first week you lost the extra water that you were holding on to! Instead of thinking of 3 lbs in one week - think of it as 12 lbs in a month! Who wouldnt' want to be down that in a month!

You are doing great!!! I look forward to hearing about more of your journey on the boards!!

I do know that the weight loss is going to slow down now, am okay with that. I'm gonna stick with the 14 day iduction for another 2 month before i go on to OWL. Can't exercise just yet as am getting over ankle surgery and can't walk properly. Do you need to sign up for the mandatory exercise?

            Re: First Two Weeks Completed

there are seated exercises you could do until your ankle heals. Have you looked at the PACE program it is a seated plan for arthritics and seniors and they do a pretty good job of doing flexibility strenght and cardio.

we don't sign up for exericse as it is required by Dr Atkins as part of his plan. we can sign up to join exercise challenges on ADBB if we want.

Why? What do you think that will accomplish that OWL wouldn't?

                    Congrats on the loss!
You should consider moving up the rungs. I lost more weight moving up than staying at induction. I got bored and fell off the wagon. You should consider it.
