  • Back to join you....

Well I am back for the 14 day induction after going on a CARB BINGE WEEKEND :no ...But I have got to manage to brek them habits... But I know it is bad for me, I just get in my mind, hmmm, a snickers bar sounds good, I will go get me one....I know it is bad for me, but it is like the angel is on one side and the devil on the other side, and I always choose the devil :geek

Oh good, I found you Cindy. I was wondering how you recovered after all our posts trying to help. Good to see that you are moving on and learning from it :hug

If you can get through 14-days of straight Induction, no cheating, I PROMISE it will be easier and you will handle your cravings much better... so much so that you won't crave and it would be a while (if ever) till your next cheat.

I've seen so many posts where once people have started on Atkins, they don't cheat because they don't crave all their old favourites. Personally, I've cheated because I THINK I miss a food, eat it, and find it wasn't like it used to taste and I don't cheat on the same food... (well, I lie, Thai food is a hard thing for me to limit). BUT, I am back on track and if I avoid my excellent Thai food cook-friends for a few weeks, I think I will be ok :nod

Moochiecat sent a really good link from a previous post

It explains why we should also stay away from any artificial sugars during Induction because for some, any form of sweetness (even if it is artificial sugar) can cause cravings

The only way you are going to get that sugar monster off your shoulder whispering in your ear is to ignore him.
Once you can go a while without eating sweet things you might find you can't hear him at all :yes
How about making a goal for yourself of one week with no sweeteners?
Not even splenda or 'legal' diet drinks?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

When mr Pizzamonster tries to talk to me, I stick my fingers in my ears and say, "la la laaaaaaaaaaaa I can't hear youuuu."

I would recommend doing this in your brain, because it is potentially publically embarrassing to really talk smack to an item of food with others present.

Yes I agree and I have to say the way I stave off a craving (Im on day 5 of induction) is to say NO outloud and to drink drink drink my water. I had such a bad craving the other night, I think it was day three, I found someone *fr1ndly* that was online with Yahoo, and talked to her until my cravings went away. Thank God I found her cause I think I would have cheated if I didnt have the support I found on here. Good Luck To You,
