  • obsessive butter snacking!! sounds terrible!

can you believe that i have now been obsessivley snacking on butter? I am taking the stick of butter and cutting very thin pieces and snack on this!

Then if I have too much I get a VERY BAD stomach ache. not sure why butter gives you a stomach ache, too much fat?

Dr atkins says we can use liberal amounts of butter. But is this seriously uhealthy?

I mean, is there such a thing on atkins where there may be too much fat? (even though fat is a good thing on this way of eating?)

I just don't want to stall myself by snacking on butter. I also don't want to eat so much fat that I am going to suffer from high cholesterol and a heart attack!

is too much fat too much even for this plan? Some days I have way less carb than 20g's and end up 90% fat for the day!

obsessive snacking is a concern. You do not want to do that on anything. You want concentrate on meals that are somewhat balanced. You need protein and carbs as well. We may get around 65% of our daily calories from fat but not 100. I do not worry about cholesterol - most of what nutritional people say about it is not based on facts. There was forinstance just a study that came out that suggested that eating butter is better for you than olive oil (so completely contrary to what those guidance people have been saying for years).
I don't know why you get stomach ache. It sounds like it may be somewhat caused by your bad consciousness. Perhaps you should re read the book. Take a look at Good Calories Bad Calories by Taubes and get to know the facts so that fats do not scare you.

Yeah, no we don't need obsessive ANYTHING here. Put down the butter bar, don't buy any more for two weeks and instead use Olive Oil. Thats way to much butter and won't help your weight loss at all.

        Yes, probably too much butter.

I just don't want to stall myself by snacking on butter.
This has been discussed in your other butter thread:

If you overeat calories, you will gain weight regardless of what the source of these calories is.

Did you read what 2big posted in your other thread, about Jackie Eberstein's patient who was snacking on a stick of butter (with cinnamon) and wondering why she's not losing weight even though she was in ketosis according to the ketostix?

Some days I have way less carb than 20g's and end up 90% fat for the day!
More veggies, less butter... and it should be net carbs, not just "carbs".

          That's not doing Induction properly.
