  • I'm back with a better attitude.

    Hi folks,

I post over a week ago and introduced myself. I tried to start induction a couple of times but had not done the grocery shopping and wasn't really ready to jump in. It was the end of the month and I didn't have the money to buy a wagon load of meats.

    I'm ready.

I shopped today: beef, ckn, pork, seafood and some lettuces, broccoli, and cauliflower. And real cream for my coffee. I have my FitDay account set up and I'm ready to track my net carbs. I'm armed and ready to give this a real go for the next two weeks. I have the book and continue to read.

I also have a good scale and a BP monitor at home. Hoping for some great results!

You know, I'm almost as anxious for my BP to drop as I am for the scale to go down. My BP is well controlled on meds, but I sure would love to scrap that prescription and have that $40/month back in my pocket, not to mention better health!

Besides reading DANDR 2002, preparation is one of the most important components. You did the right thing in planning and preparing despite a false start. Welcome aboard. Plan what you will do for exercise, too, and think about all those times when you may have a moment questioning whether you want to eat something not on the list and decide what you will do instead. It is so much better to be prepared.

        Best wishes.

Thank you everyone! I already have exercise plans. I do pilates and yoga. No problems there. My biggest challenge will be understanding how to best plan out my menus.

          Have a great Monday!

            Hi Daisy
As I mentioned on your other thread, lettuce is not very carby (which is why many people do go for it) but it doesn't have much in the way of nutrition. So try not to use it as most of your salad vegetables or it will be hard to get much in the way of net carbs for them, and we are supposed to be getting 'most' of our up to 20 net carbs from our veggies.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
