  • Fit Day

    Hey everyone,

I am using fit day...but I am having problems on the food search.
Today I was in a meeting all day and had packed a lunch that consisted of scrambled egg, ham and some cheese with a good amount of celery and cucumer that I snacked on throughout the day...
but I found myself hungry so ran to mcdonalds and got a burger and ate it without bun......(bad choice Im sure) but i was desperate!
I cannot find hamburger patties, plain, no bun...
How do you search for this?

I've had alot of problems searching foods on there....any advise? I love the site, but it can be frustrating at times.

    Thanks

HW-162/SW-152/CW-140/GW-130...and than some later if needed!

    First goal met 10lbs down
now on for the next 10

    Re: Fit Day

    Try looking for
    beef, ground
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

      Re: Fit Day

For the burger, you can enter a custom food based on the nutritional info on the McDonalds site - that would give you the most accurate numbers.

Searching on Fitday can be tricky...in general, you want to enter the foods "raw". If you choose cooked items, the numbers assume ingredients you may not have used/consumed. For example, if you add "Ceasar salad" - it will count the croutons, an average dressing, etc. You should add "romaine lettuce", "parmesan cheese", a custom entry for your brand of Ceasar dressing, etc. That way you get the best numbers.

For the patty, I would have searched "beef, ground" and gone from there...maybe "beef, ground, patty". You are never going to find "no bun" in the database.

As far as McDonalds goes, it isn't the best choice, but it is far from the worst - just hold the bun & the ketchup (it is FULL of sugar).

      Hope this helps

EDIT - I see Elizellen got ahead of me - sorry for the repetition
