  • Day 10 and 8.2lb lighter

I am sooo chuffed, delighted and grinning from ear to ear! In just 10 days 8 lbs have gone, melted away. I am no longer craving the sugars as much as i did, thank Gawd! Still get the odd twinge, but it no longer takes over my mind like it did at the beginning.
Drining the water is probably the hardest and i have to force myself to drink the required amount ! I miss my usual squash as i could drink gallons of that, but hey, i'll get use to the water in time too.

If you are thinking of giving up, dont.. keep going it does work !

Re: Day 10 and 8.2lb lighter

            Hi Caryn
Well done for starting again, it does work! I'm now on week 3 (day 15) and 8.8 lb lighter and boy it feels great ! It's really helped that i have a buddy who's also doing the diet as that's kept me focussed and away from all the chocolates and other temptations. So keep going, take one day at a time. I like to plan my meals at least one or 2 days in advance and keep things in my fridge that i can nibble on should i suddenly want something.
            Good luck with it

This is great to hear for us newbies who have never done Atkins before!

I am missing chocolate too- but am only on day 4 so hopefully the cravings will get less as time goes on- its weird I'm not hungry but could always do with 'something sweet'!

                Hi Newshoes,
Gosh yes, the cravings can be quite something, but they do go! Or at least become less noticeable. I drink fruit teas which helps a bit and just knowing that i am ridding my body of the sugar addiction makes me feel so good. So just stay with it because it is soo worth it.

Re: Day 10 and 8.2lb lighter

Its nice to know- my husband gave up sugar a few months ago (not through atkins) and has been nagging me to do it, saying how much better I will feel! (I was the kind of person who reached for a chocolate cereal bar first thing)

I have to admit defeat on this one!

Re: Day 10 and 8.2lb lighter

I know it's not easy, but for the body to detoxify, and to almost reset a button, sugar has to come out of our diet! Heck, i love chocolate too much and can eat it at any time .. but it's not good for my body, its not good for my energy levels, its making me fat, flabby and does not benefit me as much as a good healthy diet.

Now i get a little sugar from a little tomato, a little bit of carot, and i enjoy a slice of a red pepper too.
                    It can be done.

peppers are nice treats!! good to have them! other nice treats are nuts too!

cant wait to see some results on my 827389273 attempt at induction and doing it strictly right! but you know, i think i'm having issues with my tom. skipped 2 cycles which i think might be due to many external factors such as adapting to the whole new life/travel and change of environments (to the states) and more intensive weight lifting exercises.

will my irregular tom affect my weight loss? and am feeling bloated...i just want to return to my normal cycles
