pork scratchings on induction...

    pork scratchings on induction...

    I had a bag of these today- delicious and I felt very naughty after- even though the total gram count for the whole bag was less than 1!!

    Are these ok to much on during the day please??

    Scratchings are almost the same thing as US pork rinds. While they are very low in carbs, they are super high in calories. Moderation is the key - eating some will help cravings and satisfy your need for a crunch, but too much can cause a stall.

      How big a bag was it, Georgie?
      Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

        Where are the carbs coming from? Did you check the ingredients? The flavored kind usually have sugar added.

        Are these ok to much on during the day please??
        Eating some vegetables with fat and/or protein, or some meat, cheese, eggs, half an avocado or a handful of olives would be better.

          Oh, and if you munch just for the sake of munching, then it's not okay... it's just a bad habit.

            They are also usually high in sodium. A whole bag if they are like US bags would be very high in sodium. Not a good food to eat a lot of. They should definitely be eaten in moderation.

              OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW..... 47g bag- Really did need them- it was those or a bag of crisps!

                Well, yes they were a better choice than a bag of crisps (chips in USA)

                If you are craving salty and crispy you could make some cheese crackers - just microwave small chunks (or piles of grated) cheese till they spread out and go bubbly and golden brown.

                  this is exactly what i do.
                  i buy shredded cheese (usually parm, cheddar and mozza) and make tiny little lumps of it on parchment paper. stick in the oven for 7 minutes at 375 and i have little cheese chips to get rid of the crunchy/chewy sensation i'm craving.

                  they are filling too!
