  • Taco Bell

Hi, I'm happy to read that there is no sugar or carbs in the taco bell sauce.

What about the innards of the steak and chicken soft tacos, is the meat marinated with anything not induction friendly? (I hear the ground beef is mixed with corn meal).

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
Maybe this will help? May not help with ingredients but it may help with nutrition info.

You can always search the internet for info directly from the company or trusted nutrition websites.

Really? No sugar in the sauce?

Have you looked here for the "innards"?

Hi, thanks for the site, it's not showing up on my iPhone so I'll check when I get home.

Yes the sauce has no carbs, I googled it after seeing it listed on linda's recipe site.

Just make sure you check the Taco Bell website.

              I can't believe there aren't minimal carbs.

When looking at nutrition info and labels in general you need to check 2 things:

                1. What serving size is the nutrition info for?
If for one tablespoon or teaspoon then even if something claims zero carbs it could have up to 0.5 carbs per serving.
Some manufacturers work out numbers for a ridiculously small amount like a teaspoon so they can say '0 carbs' or 'less than one carb' (which means between 0.5 and 0.999999 carbs) 'per serving', but a normal person would use one of two tablespoons of it.
So if you eat 2 tablespoons of something which states zero carbs for one teaspoon you could be eating 6 times 'up to 0.5' which could be nearly 3 carbs!!

                2. We have to look at ingredients of anything to decide what phase of Atkins it is suitable for.
So if it contains corn starch it is 'legal' for rung 9 of OWL, if it contains soy beans it is 'legal' for rung 6 and if it contains corn syrup, sucrose, HFCS or any of the other aliases for sugar it is not 'legal' at all

It might be better to make one of the alternative sauces from linda's site instead of using a commercial one so you know it only contains 'Atkins-legal' ingredients.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
