  • Day 4 - .....this is not cool

    So, food going okay. low carb friend showed me last night where to get some hard to find but low carb items for after i'm done with induction and all that (some stuff to make my own low carb bake mix, recipe for near 0 carb crab cakes, different near 0 carb hashbrowns, and pancakes, lots of good stuff some of it ok for induction. The non induction friendly stuff i'll be purchasing in a few weeks).

    That said, I feel awful. LIke completely, and totally awful. I guess it's induction flu or whatever but ohmgod. Like, i'm at work, and i told the boss i'm going home. I feel that awful.

    Low carb bake mix should wait until you're much further along the OWL ladder.

    Just because your "low carb friend" showed you some "stuff", doesn't mean it's 0 carb or that it's Atkins friendly ... or friendly to OWL Rung 1.

      Hence...why...I'm not going to be buying it for several weeks? Really indeed, I'm not a total idiot who can't check a label.

      Christ I feel like i may as well just not post here, I think i'm not going to anymore. The last thing I need is the judgement that anything I plan for the future is wrong, and because I didnt get told it on *this* board that clearly, everyone else is an idiot who I shouldn't take any advice from.

          Just get through today, I'd bet the pain is downhill from here! It only gets easier.

            Good job on the planning to noit get any of that stuf till after you induction is over and even then you may find you like the legal foods and recipes found here better then any frankenfoods.

            the feeling tired, weak, low energy can be a symptom you need to feed your body more legal foods.

            Also if you make poor induction veggie choices you can become depleted in vits and minerals as even Dr Atkins couldn't meet the daily needs for the average person with his menu in DANDR sample so be sure to use something like fitday.com to check your vits and minerals after you post your foods.

            Getting washed out of things like potassium can make you light headed weak tired confused cause your blood pressure will drop.
            so if your intake isn't good you might want to talk to your doctor about some supplementing in the things you are low in if you don't feel better in a day or two.

            Also not everything we experience with our bodies while eating atkins is atkins related so if you don't feel better soon see your doc. hope you don't have the real flu.

              Drink lots of water, take some otc pain meds (tylenol or whatever) and get some rest. You should be almost through the worse part. Dont' worry you will wake up and feel awesome soon.

                Hope you start feeling better soon! I get terrible symptoms whenever I miss my meds. I know how awful it can feel.
