  • rewards...

    does anyone reward yourself, or did you in the beginning of your weight loss journey, with anything "non food"?? Just wondering, cause when I get to my second mini goal of weighing in at 199, I decided, I'm getting myself a new blackberry phone! just curious

    1st mini goal....to lose 25 pounds (18 gone so far)
    2nd mini goal...to weigh 199
    3rd not so mini goal...to weigh 160 (maybe 155)

    I've bought a lot of new clothes but it was kind of a combo reward and necessity. The others were getting way too big. Feels good to wear pretty clothes again though. I did buy me some super cute cheetah pjs the other day, haven't bought new pjs in years. Turns out they are too big so I have to take them back LOL

    Hoping to be at goal by July. Dh and I booked a 5 night cruise. Can't think of a better goal reward than that.

          I am thinking about a tatoo... we will see.
          I did pierce my belly button as an "exercise" reward back in December.
          149.8/no weigh/ 119



          1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
          what the rungs mean to me:
          rung 1 - more veggies
          rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
          rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
          rung 4 - berries, melon
          rung 5 - wine -
          rung 6 - beans, hummus
          rung 7 - other fruits
          rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
          rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
          Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
          (on to pre-maintenance)

            MONEY!!! I paid myself $5 a pound and when I'd lost 100 pounds I could spend it on any thing I wanted.

              Clothes, jewelry, day-trips, etc. But my BIGGEST regret was my "half-way there reward". It was a bicycle. And after I found that I used the bicycle alot, I regretted that I did not get it earlier because bicycling is exercise (and it saves gas money!)

              Granted, it's not the kind of exercise that you think about (like doing push-ups), but it's an exercise you can do in the process of doing something else, like bike to the corner store, or to the park, or to the library, etc.

                I wish I could bike around here, I use to love biking. But we are on the main highway and I'd have to drive a long ways just to find a place to bike. Or pedal faster than the semis LOL

                Think I may have to settle for a recumbent bike.
