  • Day 2- Am i doing this right?

    So i am on day 2 of induction and would just like some opinions of whether i am doing this right.

    Today i had for breakfast: 2 boiled eggs
    For lunch: can of tuna and a piece of fish with melted cheddar cheese and lettuce
    For dinner: fish covered in butter with celery and lettuce

    For snacks: 2 pieces of cheddar cheese and an omlette made with 2 eggs and grated cheese

    I have also only been drinking water

    Hi, MissL!

    You should add some vegetables higher in net carbs there. Lettuce and celery are very low in carbs and it's not really healthy to eat only that.

    Cheese appears very often in your menu. Are you limiting yourself to at most 4 ounces per day? That's the limit in DANDR.

    I could be wrong, but it seems to me that you're not eating enough fat. Atkins is a high fat diet, you know? Many people think it's high protein, but that's not correct.

    I believe your calories are very low too, aren't they?

        welcome to ADBB and to Atkins. fish is a fine protein source for atkins and I see you added some fats to be sure you wwrre getting enough.
        Your veggie choices are legal but did you have 3 cups and what kind of lettuce was it a nice dark kind and hopefully not iceberg so you got lots of vits and minerals from it.

          Thanks for all your advice. Yeh i am going to start limiting the cheese to 3-4 ounces, i just couldn't think of anything else to snack on. As for vegetables i was worried that other types would have too many carbs and that i might go over so i stuck with those to be safe. Could anyone tell me how much exactly a 'cup' is in weight??

            Eggs are good to snack on (especially devilled eggs) or homemade jerky or left over meats. Or my preferred thing to do is to have enough to eat at meals so I limit snacks.
