  • a little down

    Hi,

I am now on day 8 and have only lost about 2 pounds. I think I might be trying to do this diet in a low fat manner, which I have read is not possible. I am having troubles wrapping my head around eating high fat. Any tips on how to make my meals high fat? Also, can we eat full fat sour cream? and how much mayo is allowed?

    thank-you for the advise!

Perhaps if you list some of your daily menus including amounts people can give you some ideas on how to up your fat if needed?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Honey, I am the queen of high fat so listen up - lol. (although I'm not sure if I was / am doing it right either).

1st: Bacon, bacon, bacon. Did I mention bacon?
2nd: Eggs, scrambled or fried in butter.
        3rd: Deep fried chicken wings
4th: Tuna salad (mayo) / Egg Salad (mayo)

        All yummy in my book

(Anyone feel free to correct me, as I want to learn if I am doing it right as well. I've lost 9-11 lbs since the 4th but had a 'sicky-icky' episode last night and had to break off until tonight/tomorrow).

Good luck Yazz with teh fatty intake!

Also bacon, i keep seeing "nitrite" in the ingrediants, its a no-no right?

Yes, as long as it's not breaded.

Are you going to deep fry your bacon. That does sound yummy?
If I had a deep fryer I would deep fry green beans. That is what I want right now

                While on induction:

                1. cook your eggs and protein, in oil, put an oz of cheese in your eggs
                2. use full fat dressing (no sugar) on your salads
                3. add hard boiled eggs to your salads
                4. use full fat mayo, sour cream, cream cheese, cheese

You can get a lot of healthy fats from an avocado.

Remember to limit your cheese to 4oz a day while on induction.

It adds up very quickly and you won't have a problem adding it once you get the hang of it. It took me time to wrap my head around all that fat too. You will see alot of fat come from the majority of protein you will be eating like beef.

Atkinsgal, I think she meant thats what to do to higher your fat intake.
She wasn't making a daily menu.

Post a menu and folks here can make some suggestions. Alot of the time, you just need some menu tweaking. If you feel nervous about fats, you can choose some of the healthier fats such as olive oil and avocado and butter. A little bit of these go a long way.
