Hi everyone! Hope everyone is good. Me? About the same, still overweight, high sugar/blood pressure. I know in the past I have always said "This is the time, i'm gonna shine...blah blah blah". Well nothing in life is easy, especially this WOE/WAL (atleast for me anyways) but you can never just give up! I have done a lot of thinking these last few days, I thought about how food addiction is just like almost any other addiction (such as drugs, smoking, alcohol, etc) it may not be AS BAD as some of these, but an addiction is still an addiction. Theres no magic pills, no mind controlling, even as much as your family might want this for you...YOU have to want it...want it MORE. I want it terribly bad, theres nothing more in life I want as to be healthy and a more normal size so I can do things! I went back and read the post I made sometime last year, or the year before, i'm not sure when...but it seemed I really wanted this back then too. I have come to realize, when it comes to eating bad you just have to say NO and say YES to eating healthy and exercising. Just like any other addiction, the power is in you to quit, and change your life for the better.

Sounds like a darn motivational speech LOL, I don't mean it like that, just saying how I feel right now. I am completely cutting out my diet coke, and drinking nothing but water, and as good as pop tastes, it just is not worth it. So today is day 1 of induction, and going as planned as I would not have it any other way. I have the 2002 book which I have read a few times, my girlfriend ordered the book from barnes and noble (since walmart was sold out!) and was wondering if anyone that has the new book has any input on it, negative or positive? Well i'll talk to you all real soon so keep it on the straight and narrow!

Welcome home Monroe. We can do this.... So what's for dinner. I cooked a corned beef with cabbage as the corned beef was on sale LOL and I'm cheap.

Hi Scott - welcome back to your ADBB family
There is at least one thread about the new NANY (New Atkins for a New You) book in the main Atkins Diet forum which gie quite a bit of insight into the differences from DANDR
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
