  • I am doing it properly this time...

I have come and gone so many times i feel like an absolute loser but whilst i was away i joined calorieking and it is a GREAT tool that has helped me lose a LITTLE bit of weight. I truly feel that my body is so much better WITHOUT carbs and hence i am back to truly do this way of life as i think that i am at a level where i can honestly focus on losing weight the atkins way BUT using calorie king as a tool to track my food.....

Question..... can i still limit carbs and eat only 1200 calories a day??? Is this allowed or are calories simply pointless in this environment???

1200 calories might not be enough for you. You need to fuel your metabolism in order to lose ... and that means eating enough net carbs and enough calories.

Dr Atkins told us not to count (= restrict) calories but that calories do count (= it is possible to eat too much food if we try really hard )

So especially on induction concentrate on how many carbs you are eating, trying to get most of your 'up to 20 net carbs' from your vegetables; don't eat mainly lean meat (or if you like lean meat make sure you use fats in cooking/eating them); eat when hungry and until no longer hungry; drink your water and exercise and I am sure you will do well!!

Some days you could find yourself eating much less than 1200 calories and sometimes much more, but go by what your body wants and it will even out over the weeks.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Just a thought - I haven't used calorieking for logging foods - does it display net carbs or total carbs? If total carbs, does it show fiber so you can deduct them to find your net carb count?
