my boyfriends family makes there own maple syrup from sap from a tree and im wondering if i can have some in my tea? not sure how many carbs there are? is it okay too have?

I am canadian and love to go tree taping!! Ever since I was a little girl! Lol I know it sounds boring and whatnot, but its actually very peaceful in the woods and when you get your syrup in the pail you can boil it in a huge pot outside over a giant bon fire!! Smells WONDERFUL!!!
I didn't get the chance to go this year, and I am glad!!!! Because it is absolutely DANGEROUS!!!! lol
