>>I cheated a teensy weensy bit yesterday to get through day 2!>>
So now your body is essentially "starting over" ... the carb rush from your "cheat" will likely take your body out of ketosis ... and you'll just take longer to get back in to ketosis.
So exactly what have you accomplished? Your cravings won't diminish with your "cheat" ...

Yes, it is something you have to figure out.J.

Re: Day two is hard.......
This is not necessarily true. It depends how many carbs were in your "cheat". Since you were only on day 2, you probably have not gotten into ketosis yet so it may take you a little longer to get there. If you don't mind my asking, what are you missing so much that you just couldn't resist? So now your body is essentially "starting over" ... the carb rush from your "cheat" will likely take your body out of ketosis ... and you'll just take longer to get back in to ketosis.

If you are having cravings for either sweet or off-plan carby foods try to be stocked up with lots of 'legal' high fat snacks so you can grab one when the cravings hit.
Some people find that eating something sour like a dill pickle kills a sweets cravings dead!!Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I was commenting generally on making the right choices and I was not addressing you at all. Do you have your own thread about your issues?

Re: Day two is hard.......
I'm also on day two... believe it or not, today wasn't so bad. I anticipate tomorrow to be rough. I had the support of my husband the past two days, but tomorrow he's back at work. The hardest part for me so far was yesterday... up until about noon or 1... for some reason, the first 5-6 hours was the hardest.
The only symptoms I'm having is getting a little nauseated or icky feeling after eating. I take chromium to suppress my shakiness from lack of sugar. I'm also drinking more water than I used to in a week.
As for cravings... like a previous poster mentioned... what EXACTLY are you looking for? Crunch? Sweetness? You need to try and substitute what you used to eat for with something now safe to eat.
Try not to give in... do something to preoccupy yourself. Go for a walk. Cook something. Yesterday, when I was thinking I just can't do this.... I went grocery shopping! It worked!
Good luck... keep in touch. We can support one another through this!Mini goals:
1: out of 190's 4/5/10
2: 179 pounds (no longer obese)
3: Run one mile without stopping
4: 165 pounds (driver's license weight)
5: size 14 jeans
6: 149 pounds (no longer over weight)
7: 140 pounds (prepregnancy weight)
135= weight on wedding day
123= weight on high school graduation

Hi,Originally posted by nichola-anne View PostBeing a thinner me is more important than what I can no longer eat. Thanks for the words!!!!
Remember eventually as you work your way up through OWL, you will be adding a lot of food back into your life. You will do great. Each passing day gets better. If you get a craving think about something else, drink a little water, brush your teeth, go into another room, walk outside for a few minutes, turn on a CD and "dance like nobody's watching" for a few minutes. You have a great attitude, and you WILL be successful!
I posted this on my journal the other day...
"Just something I came across today...I think it applies to us as we travel down out journey to good health and weight loss. It may not happen fast, and we should not get discouraged...we should have the attitude that we will make it there. When? is a question that can not be answered, but WE WILL be a success.

Well you never really gave it a chance to get better I mean you were only on day 2. It takes longer than that to get the good effects of the plan. It's not a miracle it will take hard work to get through that first week or however long it takes you to get over your cravings. Each time you feed them you are making it harder on yourself.
Good luck to all those struggling. I know it's rough but if you can just stick it out it will be worth it soon.
