Ok so I am one week in and 5 lbs down. I know I need to start exercising to help. I consume plenty of water and counting my carbs and avoiding the tea now that I know it does have carbs. However I am still craving thing I cant have something chocolate and sweet at night and a nice bowl of cereal and cold milk would be nice....Question is should I still be having cravings and any suggestions to help get over them? I have tried cream cheese with cocoa and sweetneer frozen and that does not even touch it. Also made a homemade vanilla ice cream I found on here still not enough to get rid of the cravings, and veggies and cheese are not cutting it either.

Atkins isn't 0 carbs ... you can have tea as long as you count the carbs.
>>hould I still be having cravings>>
Sadly, some people never get rid of their cravings ... they just learn to say no.
>>I have tried cream cheese with cocoa and sweetneer frozen and that does not even touch it.>>
All you did was feed your cravings ... that's not going to help you overcome them.

All that did was keep your cravings alive.
Feeding your cravings with what you crave is about the worst thing you can do.J.

Re: Cravings????
I often suggest jumping up and down to feel the jiggle. That always helped me. Getting naked in front of the mirror - that helps me. Brush teeth, drink water - have a dill pickle.
Change what you are doing. Break up the routine. Do you get cravings because you are used to eat in front of the TV then turn it off.
Maybe you can do push-ups when you get cravings

Re: Cravings????
I'd try getting rid of ALL sweet-tasting things for awhile -- even zero-calorie, zero carb things. If it tastes sweet, get it off your menu. Let your body throw a tantrum for a few days but don't give in! It will get easier.Female, 5'9

Re: Cravings????
As the others said, feeding your cravings for 'sweet' with artificially sweetened stuff will do nothing to get your sugar monster off your back
What I did was every time I felt I wanted 'sweet' I ate 'high fat' or 'sour' instead to teach my body that if it was hungry I would feed it but with MY choice of food not my monster's choice.
So have prepared lots of 'legal' foods and snacks so you can get them instead of anything off-plan and eat them if you are hungry, but do not wolf them down - eat a little then stop and put it away for say 20 minutes and if you are still hungry eat a little more.
Eventually your body will work out the difference between 'hungry' and 'fancying something sweet for a change' or 'needing to nibble something because I am bored/watching TV' etc.
It takes time
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: Cravings????
This works well for me. Too many artificial sweeteners stoke my cravings.Originally posted by TzuLoo View PostI'd try getting rid of ALL sweet-tasting things for awhile -- even zero-calorie, zero carb things. Re: Cravings????
This may not be the case with your bf but sometimes our partners or friends gets insecure when we try to change weight. It may threaten them because they think that we will somehow change and the relationship we have with them will change. So maybe he need some reinsurance.

Hang in there, you can do it
Maybe get involved with something that needs your fingers busy doing something else than holding food to help distract your cravings?Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: Cravings????
I was almost going to post the same scenario.
Im 17 days into induction, ive lost an amazing 8kgs - half way to my goal. I haven't struggled much with foods, I love meat and veggies. Best of all though was the burst of energy Ive had since day 3, something which I was missing for many many years. Not bad for something which started as an experiment!
Im planning on moving to the next phase this Sunday at the family Easter gathering, but as of yesterday, I have been overwhelmed by a massive chocolate craving, and im also finally sick and tired of meat. I need something SWEET. I figure I will try some strawberries soon and see if that does the trick, otherwise im probably gonna cave in to a choalate egg. Surely 1 wont harm me? After all, I dont think Ive ever convinced myself I was never going to eat chocolate ever again. TBH, I dont think could/want to do that. Im only up to the OWL stage in the book now, so I dont know what the future holds for me, but I guess i have to work that out.

Re: Cravings????
If I had a pound for every post have read from someone needing to restart Atkins who included a line like that in their 'I'm back with more to lose' introduction I would be very well offOriginally posted by Krusty View PostI figure I will try some strawberries soon and see if that does the trick, otherwise im probably gonna cave in to a choalate egg. There are plenty of 'sweet' options you could use your 3 servings of sweetener for if you really want to. Take a trip to our food and cooking forums for some ideas.
Much better to stick to induction for the first 14 days then move to OWL and start reintroducing the lower rung foods in order, and bfore a few weeks are over you will be 'allowed' some naturally sweet foods wihtout having to choose to eat off-plan.
After a while of not eating 'sweet' you might find that 'legal' foods like red peppers, celery etc taste sweet enough for everyday and that you can include an occasional dessert in your menus without risking sliding down the 'slippery slope'.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
