  • 6 days into induction. HAPPY

Hi, I'm new to ADBB and to Atkins it's self.
I was one of the many people who had misconceptions about Atkins WOE…until I read the book. Reading the book gave me a real understanding of what Atkins is all about. But I wasn’t completely sold. I’ve read many book promising results if diet and exercise is done their way. I was hesitant. Then I accidently stumbled upon this support site. After looking at the amazing before\current and after pics I was so fired up and ready to get this thing going. I find ADBB and the people on it to be very supportive and positive. I have completed 1 week of “CLEAN” induction and I can see a difference in my clothes and in the mirror already. I’m trying to stay off the scale till day 14. At that time I will re-measure myself and post my results. So thanks for all the motivation!

This site is awesome isn't it? Good luck to you and keep us updated!
Lost 100lbs+ since May '09 with a variety of methods, calorie counting, low fat, low carb (not Atkins strict), zig zagging, etc. Would switch up diet and exercise as I stalled to reboot loss. Prior to Atkins I was about 1000cals/day, exercising fairly hard and NOT losing...so here I am to finish the job.

It is a good thing to read up on any new way of eating thoroughly before getting started, so well done for doing your research first

I look forward to sharing your Atkins journey
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

welcome to ADBB and to atkins. love your attitude about reading the book and not weighing again until day 15 when you can see your total results for 14 day induction. I was a skeptic too and really thought I'd gain weight eating all that fatty foods without a cal limit placed on me even though I'd read all the studies Dr Atkins cited in DANDR and on his website. I was shocked on day 15 and became an Atkinseers from then on.

Welcome to ADBB and Atkins! Yes, this Way of Eating really does work! I had my doubts in the beginning too, but I was so delighted to find not only does it work, but I feel tons better, am not hungry and am eating all kinds of great foods! Who knew? (Well, Dr. Atkins did).

Use the resources here, like getting your menu reviewed even if you think you are doing a clean induction, the experts here are great at finding ways to improve how you're eating and making sure you're getting the proper nutrients and correct mix of fats, proteins and carbs, on Induction and as you move into OWL. I often thought I was doing things right and found out later, I was not. This really helps when you hit a stall and are not sure why.

Keep up the good work! Looking forward to your weigh in after Induction!
