  • Vegetable Net Carbs Question

Just checking before I start my first day induction tomorrow. I have worked out a menu plan and my total net carbs equals 19.9

My veg portion of that is 16.4, with only 3.5 making up the non-veg net carbs. I was just wondering if someone can tell me if this is okay to go with?

    Thank you!

Seems just right to me. Although, it does make me wonder if you're getting enough calories, and more specifically enough fat. This isn't just a low carb way of eating. It's a high fat WOE, too. Do you know what the calorie count and break down is? (How many calories from carbs, protein, and fat)

    Have a good day!

      Seems great to me, B2B

Well done on getting all those net carbs from your 3 cups of induction vegetables too

So many newcomers to Atkins think they can only eat lettuce on induction so have great difficulties getting anywhere near the number you have done.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

        Your net carbs sound good.

          Re: Vegetable Net Carbs Question

I was going with the idea of weighing my veg on fitday as opposed to using the 3 cup measure. I just added up the weight of my vegies and it's 380 grams plus 2 celery stalks. I'm not sure if that's in the range or not. My days eating consists of:-

Breakfast - 2 slices bacon and 2 eggs
M/Tea - celery stalk with 1 tbsp creamed cheese
Lunch - 150g chicken breast with salad (lettuce, spinach, cucumber, spring onion, mushroom and tomato)
A/Tea - celery stalk with 1 tbsp creamed cheese
Dinner - 165g beef, 2 tbsp of mustard cream sauce (1g) with veg (pumpkin, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and spring onion)

Would you mind telling me if this is okay? I'm not sure if this is enough fat? I thought it seemed quite healthy, compared to what I am used to anyway!! I also will be drinking LOTS of water and only herbal teas from now on.

Thanks so much for your help. I really want to get this right!

              Did you make this yourself?

150g chicken breast with salad (lettuce, spinach, cucumber, spring onion, mushroom and tomato)
Do you add some dressing to the salad? This meal seems quite low in fat.

I think your menu looks really good.

Thank you for that, Georgiana, I had not realised it.
Anyway, good for her for getting so many net carbs of veg, whichever version she is following
And as Cinders used to say - no-one ever put weight on from eating too many induction vegetables
